$5 Powerball Quick Pick Oddity
Lilly,
I've had that happen too and I don't know the answer. Obviously if some of those numbers hit and you win on multiple lines it's a good thing. If none of them hit it's a bad thing.
Some fo the weirdest things I've ever seen...I once bought a $5 ticket for Powerball. I picked the first line and the other 4 lines were Quick Picks. The number I chose for Powerball repeated on 3 of the Quick Pick lines. Five lines and the Powerball was the same on 4 of them.
Two weeks ago I made

Paranoid or Prudent?
@jarasan
<>You are indeed right! I stand corrected. I didn't see that was a free ticket. WOW! Winning a free quick pick and then winning on that quick pick takes even more skill than buying one.
And you are correct again.we all know that judges, police, doctors and indeed lottery officials can be corrupt.
I simply maintian that when you see all the stories about lottery corruption...across state lines and international boundires...you must begin to question the integrity of lo

What is your preferred method for choosing numbers?
Before coming to LP it was gut hunches , quick picks, and number from astrology magazines.
Well, the astologoy magazines and Star scrolls are no loinger available around here, gut hunches just don't work for lotto (not for me anyway), and I'm not going to bet $64 on 128 combinations to win $40 and say, I hit .
After being here a year and a half, I look at last night's pick 5, subtract them all right to left from the max number, 39, add the totals and divide by two. ( 0 for 547 so far r

whats the most you have ever won on a quick pick?
I am not a quick pick fan but I do buy them from time to time and I never put
more than $1 per game that I buy them for so I really dont give them much of a chance
But to answer your question, and the reason that I even spend a dollar on them still to this
day is because the closest that I have came to a jackpot win was a 4 out of 5 on Illinois
Little Lotto and that was a quick pick. Only happened once but because of that I cant
give up on them completely

Ky 3 line lottery 6/39
thanks for the odds info. The more I look at this one the less I like it.
Why does the state insist on providing two of the three lines?
If the quick picks are random why not let the player pick the numbers?
I'll play a quick pick ocassionally but it's my choice.
Jimmy sorry you will miss TTC, you will be in a small croud. What part of our wonderful state will you be visiting?

MegaMillions and Quick Pick
To Floridian....these are all theories, no one has any proof of anything....the odds are so astronmical megamillions does not need to cheap to make money.
However if I were a MegaMillions rep.....here is how I wpould ripoff the public....
If my system controls 70% of all combinations waged, then I could select one or two numbers and have those programed into the system to not be part of the quickpick selections....or make them use a greater span in the quick pick rotation. This would

Lottery superstitions, do you have any?
I'm just neurotic and obsessed, but can't think of anything I'd call a superstition, except the usual stuff like buying a mistake that gets printed. Otherwise I buy tickets when it's convenient, usually at the supermarket or 7-11. I'm not sure if I would call it a superstition, but if I have an extra dollar and think about getting a quick pick and someone cuts in front of me, I usually don't bother. Of course I would be happy for anyone who wins a jackpot, but I wouldn't want to open up the

ran dom [ran-duhm] adjective
1. proceeding, made, or occurring without definite aim, reason, or pattern: the random selection of numbers.
2. Statistics. of or characterizing a process of selection in which each item of a set has an equal probability of being chosen.
It's that simple. Numbers and tickets don't know where they are or where other winners were sold. In the long term the combination of demographics and randomness is likely to result in a distribution of winners that h

I hate QP's?
Thanks for the info Weshar75!
Actually the website states 70% to 80% of the players buy quick picks and win 70% to 80% of the time.
Basic math means that 20% to 30% of the players pick their own numbers and win 20% to 30% of the time.
The odds come out to be about the same BUT, I would rather be in the smaller percentage than the large. For example, out of 160,000,000 tickets, 80% quick picks would be 128,000,000 to 1 and the self picks would be 32,000,000 to 1. Still astronomical c
