OpenMinded,That sounds similar to the most of the powerball sheets I have for excel... I skip the pencil part and keep it all on the spreadsheet... using formatting and the line drawing tool to help... backtesting is quick in excel, no good results yet, only matches after the fact... keep at it, you never know...The thing that is frustrating about being off by one or two is if you first narrow down the positions by ranges, but then pick the wrong number out of ranges that include the right numbe

If everything is equal ,then why bother being here? or working on stuff? It would be alot easier to give up, right?All we have is the draw history (they don't publish practice draw results), I don't care how random they say it is, Biases DO exist... mad? no... just excited because something finally shows a profit versus backtesting... I have seen NO other system even backtested, let alone strong enough to generate a profit over 27 years... of course the profit is small right now, but that's where the analysis comes in... determining not only what to play when, but also what and when NOT to play.... that profit number will only go up...last time around we had alot of great ideas ,but no back-testing... no evidence that there was any merit...

The analysis of the hits will take quite some time... if need be I can add all of the 19's, which also beat the system (at least for the next 250 or so draws)... I will be breaking down the wins by day/month/Quarter... trying to determine any indicators that may make one of the particular numbers better to play than another... the position concept seems to be headed in the right direction, until now, the best single-system performance I have backtested has been the 7th rundown of the julian date+number drawn, which produced 15 straight hits in 27 years... now I have uncovered one that caught 20 straights in 27 years... the significance is mind-boggling...IF you discount playing boxes and played using this system for $1 straight back in 1977 EVERY DAY until today ,you would be AHEAD by $798 (assuming PA's numbers and $

Okay, I'd been playing with stock charting tools, and began to wonder what if I plot the frequency of drawings each number appeared and use some of the Technical Analysis tools to predict the direction of the frequency.The dark blue line (Series1) in the charts is the number of times a digit appears in the last 50 draws. As far as jackpot games and histories go, powerball's current configuration is relatively short. There will be a certain point beyond which backtesting will not be possible, from a positional standpoint... that would be with anything less than 2 past draws of the same number, because then you have no range.For example, 8 thru 11 have never appeared (after sorting) in the THIRD position, if and when they finally do get picked there, you will have no prior numbers to set the range.
