How Do I......
I have 5 numbers ex. (5 6 8 3 5) and I want to generate a list of all possible arrangements of just these five numbers in combinations of 5. Is there a piece of software that will do this? I have tried several wheeling systems but none will do the trick. I have excel if anyone has an Idea how to do this in excel. Much appreciation in advance

What software do you use and why..
Most of my work uses Excel/VBA though there's also a lot of Access/VB and SQL. There's a number tasks that one can do better (much quicker or simply) than the other. Also, you can code user defined functions (aka methods) that can be used interchangeably in Excel/Access without modification.

What software do you use and why..
#1 Excel /with VBA - quick and easy to get up and running, forces you to think to solve problems and adapt formulas.
#2 Visual Basic - easy to use when you know what to ask it (still seeking the proper questions). I still prefer excel because many times I would write a VB program only to discover an easy alternative already existed in Excel.
#3 Access - speaking SQL helps narrow down the data. Proper queries return concise results. Plus it integrates seamlessly with excel.

Writing A Computer Program?
Excel is a powerful program and will do a lot with numbers and databases. The program has been around long enough that there is a lot of help by the way of books, other software or online help. I work in research and our job is to manipulate large databases, we use excel for most of our work.

Total Combination List Using Excel?
I once had a way to have excel return combinations the way you are suggesting. You would have to do a search here in discussions under my name. I know that it will be under the subject header of excel .

Total Combination List Using Excel?
The numbers I'm using are being used as examples only to keep everything at a basic level. I don't intend to play Pick 3 game. My main focus is to learn how to make Excel generate all possible combinations as a list. As for the 1,140 value, all I can say is that Excel has calculated that there are 1,140 combinations possible when 3 numbers are picked from a pool of 20 numbers.

Lottachiaca and Lottalott thanks for these Excel tips. Great info. I use Excel a lot (every day) but I have learned more on LP than the books i read and courses I took.

(Poll) Converting numbers from the web to Excel
Rip Snorter, my vote is yes. I think you can convert numbers into Excel. I have some lotto history from CA SLP, Washington Lotto Plus, Texas Lotto with Bonus Ball, Powerball, and Mega Millions in my word document. I have their frequency recorded on Excel.

Fantasy 5 System
Can this System be put in an Excel Sheet, so the Calculations are done Automactically? If it's in an Excel Sheet, would you be willing to share your Sheet?

Important Discovery
It is excel though? I don't use excel, I was thinking more of a simple little program type thing, which I thought would be easier. Just seems a bit complicated, I want Simple like I am doing on paper LOL! Something like what sfilippo made like the Easy Devil would be nice instead of a spreadsheet.
