PA Millionaire Raffle
Wow- it looks like sales are getting REAL slow. I've searched online, and I can't find anything about what happens with the unsold ones. I'm GUESSING that if those numbers come in, then Pennsylvania keeps the money. I might buy another ticket in a week or so, if I do I'll post back here. Thanks for the update, GameGrl!

Divide and Conquer: Meet the Lottery Titans
Enveloped in neon lights, murmuring crowds and the tinny melody of computerized games, a convention center showroom here bears the trappings of a Las Vegas casino. But the players, mostly state employees sporting suits and name tags, haven't come to this annual expo to gamble. Instead, they are sampling the wares of one of government's biggest cash cows: lotteries, which rang up about $202 billion in sales last year in the United States and overseas. Amid sales pitches and glad-handing, there

More than $240 million unclaimed by lottery winners
I think Illinois should hold a special drawing for that $240,000,000.They should announce that ALL online tickets for a specified game on a specfied date are also eligable for a special drawing to be held for unclaimed money.Everyone that buys a ticket is eligable for both jacpots (the regular game the special drawing). That would add more excitement to the specified game causing more sales raising the jackpot.

How does Euro Millions do it?
Among the Euro Millions jurisdictions, there are 210,688,512 people. Add that to the ability to buy tickets online in some countries, lower age expectations (at least in the UK), and a 2 euro ticket price, chances are there is probably more money to be given away, even though only 11% of sales goes to the jackpot (By comparison, Powerball puts 32% in the jackpot). But then again just in the recent draw the UK alone but over $15,000,000 (US) into the jackpot, so the low percentage doesn't really

UK online lottery company fizzles
Editor: Lottery Post previously reported that the creators of this 'alternative' UK lottery had allegedly enriched themselves more than the charities the lottery is supposed to support. Are the owners squeezing out the profits and then leaving the company and its stockholders in the lurch? It started out as a small but brazen challenger to the national lottery, hoping to capitalize on a stream of damaging stories that have caricatured many of the good causes benefiting from lottery cash a

Play The N.C. Lottery Over The Internet? It Could Happen
How would playing Mega Millions, Powerball or state games online be the same as computerized draws? When I buy my $1 ticket tonight, a computerized record will be stored...nothing would change for Internet sales.

N.D. Lottery chief says gas price might hurt lottery sales
Texas rejected a plan to sell lottery tickets over the internet to customers who make a debit card deposit to a specific retailer. That could change if it looks like making that extra trip to buy a lottery ticket could hurt sales. I predict that online casinos that offer Pick 3 could benefit from high gas prices as more people just play online to save that extra trip to the store.Orangeman
