Blind Trust
If you want to stay anonymous though isn't a blind trust really the only way to go (at least for states like Texas that don't allow you to claim anonymously)? From what I understand about LLCs and regular trusts is that your name is still basically out there.

Blind Trust
I'm not exactly sure but since the ticket is a bearer instrument I'd imagine if your name was on the ticket your name would be on the check and in the papers (thus canceling out a blind trust).

If you want to claim jackpot anonymously, how do you sign the back of the ticket?
They say you really need to know what your doing before you try a blind trust..Be very carefull handing over a ticket unsigned to anyone friend or famiy memebr..tiggs would never do that but tiggs has been around a long time he would just sign it cash it and hide the reast of his life..Good luck no matter what you do and hope you have that problem someday..

Ohio Mega Millions lottery winner claims prize anonymously
I was thinking the same thing. Not all states allow you to claim your ticket with a blind trust. Some states, want to show everyone that the games are legit and that people do win.

Ohio Mega Millions lottery winner claims prize anonymously
Massachusetts lottery would never allow the blind trust thing. They consider it their braggin rights and have a law to that. They would never miss on a chance to splash the winners pictures on their website.

N.Y. lottery winner and tenant fight thief
I would tell no one, set up a blind trust and move to neighborhood with wealthy neighbors, say in Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Las Vegas. I might even change my name. I already have 2 rottweilers, I would probably buy more rottweilers for protection. No one comes to visit me now because they are afraid of my rottweilers. When I had small dogs, people would bother me. Now with huge dogs, no one bothers me and I like it.

Why you should try to remain anonymous if you ever win a jackpot!
I dunno, I think having a blind trust set up would still be a better option for claiming. Now, you could change your name and still be the trustee to claim it (with a disguise since they will probably want a picture) and then just change it back but wouldn't all that be public record? As well as if you don't have a trust claim it, have to notify the lottery of the name change? Or are you just a number to them after winning? You'd probably want to set up a PO box with your new name too, probably
