Giant lottery operator GTECH wants to add Tennessee to its clientele
Financial advisers have long said that lottery players would fare better investing their money in the stock market than hoping the pingpong balls pop up with their numbers. If you followed that advice and bought stock in the largest lottery operator in the country, GTECH Holdings, over the past decade, chances are the investment would have paid off better about 500% better. The West Greenwich, R.I., company's stock price has doubled in the past year, closing Friday at $42.77; GTECH's revenues have

VIDEO: Should you move to California to win the lottery?
I won't mention the name here but there is a website in Texas that has a lotto report of ticket sales by state from most of the states for both Powerball and Mega Millions draws. I have looked at sales reports, by county, in Michigan and there are plenty of anomalies here if you compare big wins/sales by county. Too bad the games are not more transparent and don't break down the ticket sales by state and too bad the states don't break them down by county and report the numbers online.

How possible is it to steal a Lottery ticket online? :/
Hmm. Even if you DID foolishly show your Winning Lottery Ticket Online and some THIEF scanned it using a Home Scanner and cashed it in and collected on it, wouldn't you still have a good case on winning your money since you most likely wouldn't look like the Thief? I mean, in Lottery, you have to cash in your ticket in PERSON, and you, the actual Winner could claim your ticket was reproduced/Scanned and collected on without your permission. I mean, LOTS of People have had their Lottery Tickets s

N.C. Woman Still Waiting For Lottery Payout
The University Sam's Mart manager told Action 9 that when the clerk swiped the ticket he made the mistake by not hitting no, indicating he wasn't paying the player. But a spokeswoman for the education lottery said their rules require stores like Sam's Mart to pay Hill. They should have paid $500 in some format, said Pam Walker. If their policy is not to pay all in cash, then they should have asked the player, 'Can you accept a money order or a check?' Even though in this case it's

Store owner's lottery bonus put on hold
There is nothing surprising about him having a balance due the lottery; that is how almost all lotteries sell their tickets. For scratch tickets, each book has a face value (# of tickets x value of each ticket). The retailers are usually charged a percentage of the face value equal to the lottery's take on the ticket. For example, if the retailer commission on scratch tickets is 6%, then the lottery charges the retailer 94% of the face value of the book. This amount is usually delay billed f

N.D. Lottery chief says gas price might hurt lottery sales
Inevitable it would be so. Not just in ND, but in all the western US, where the price at the pump forces its way into the consciousness a lot more frequently because of how far a person has to drive to get to a gas pump, and the fact that lottery ticket sales locations and gas pumps tend to be attracted enough to one another to find themselves close neighbors. The western States might be doing themselves a favor to promote the sort of online sales of tickets provided by the site being discussed
