According to the top 25 list it appears that 39 is the record number of rolls for Mega Millions So 3/2 * 39 = 58 or 59 rolls for Powerball. Timewise it would be the same so Powerball is still won quicker until it reaches 59 rolls.

The 40 roll record for Powerball is $2,040.1 million - more than double the current jackpot. It is also the largest ever Powerball jackpot. Even though the Powerball jackpot is growing much slower than it has in the past, it is doing much better than Mega Millions. Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Here are some possibilities about what's coming. It takes 201 million tickets to reach a 50% chance of getting a winner. We obviously can't get a winner in any of the previous drawings, so from this point there's a 50% chance that the cash value will reach about $668 million. At the current interest rate that would be an advertised annuity of $1.44 billion. On average it takes 292.47 million tickets to produce each winner, so once the cash value has reached $391.7 million (tonight's valu
