I think its odd too! Some folks (myself included) think that the early bird catches the worm, yet this just proves the opposite. SO basically if you are a procrastinator you have a better chance of winning. Go figure. I am skeptical with the lottery and the fact that stores are given in advance a series of quick pick numbers so each week you could technically get the same QP's and Never win if you go to the same store.

That number just came out in Maryland on 7/16/2009 ---- 334 I don't like quick picks cause i rarely hear of anyone winning with them. I might have kept one of the tickets with 334 and asked for a different ticket as a replacement for the other 334 ticket. They can cancel pick 3 and 4 tickets.

I would take those two or three numbers go to the store and quick pick the remainning 3 or 2 numbers. The way I see it, if you cover your odds, luck has a better chance of covering the rest of the odds for you.

I agree that it takes money to make money and most people don't play enough to win anything substantial on a consistant basis (as in Straight or Jackpot unless you get that lucky quick pick!). The safe thing to do would be to team up with a close friend or family member who you trust, not strangers on a lottery forum. Just my 2 cents.

The quick pick machine uses a pseudo random routine. If your state uses an RNG to do actual drawings then those are of a different machine called a true random number generator.

The free play here in NY is a quick pick, totally random numbers but is only worth $1 which you dont get in cash. Granted the jackpot might be bigger here but i would love to get $2 a pop for every free play that i got. Comparing how many times that i hit the jackpot (zero!) to how many times i hit for 2 out of 5 (many) I think i would have a different approach to the game.
