With that in mind most players of Powerball choose to let the terminal make its number selections. I do buy quick picks because of that reason with my entertainment dollars. The lottery terminals do not control the game this is not the matrix reloaded. It's just a quick pick generator that's inside each individual retailers lottery machine. According to some lottery officials each terminal is not connected to the central computers mainframe. I have my doubts about this but could be wrong. How else would they know where the winning tickets were sold. It is possible that after the drawing or when the drawing is cut off they feed the data to the mainframe via a data tr

The lottery terminal generates the quick picks using a random number generator within the teminal. The terminal does not check with the central computer prior to selection. After a quick pick is selected, the terminal sends the information to the central computer for the purpose of recording the transaction.
