Poll - Do you play lotto on Sunday?
I play pretty much every day where there are jackpots over $20 million. I live at the border of PA and NJ and can pick Powerball or Megamillion. Right now NJ has a 27.5 million jackpot but that's rare.PA used to have large jackpots, with Super 6 and Key ball but have replaced their game with the nearly useless Match 6 which I never play. In general PA games are the least appealing to me since all recent ones involve state generated quick picked numbers through which one must sort. I'd rather

329 is going to HIT!!
I was at a Deli today waiting for the bus, had to go inside to get change. I noticed that they had a lotto machine there, so I chose to play my #'s there today.I always ask for a quick pick in addition to the numbers I am playing, when I play in a new spot for good luck! (often hit that way)Well, the number that I was given was 329. That was my Father's favorite number. (He passed away 3 years ago) I could not remember what his numbers was until I saw it on the ticket. It has a good chance

Best way to predict numbers
Quote: Originally posted by winningdraw on April 09, 2004Let me ask you this - when you check the results online, do you see a lot of winners on the lotto home page who won via a quick pick? I know for the NY lottery it seems everytime I go to http://nylottery.org, and see the winner's profiles, they seem to be quickpicks. If what you're saying is true, these people are beating extraordinary odds, even by getting 5/6 numbers, or something like that.I was going to go through one of these days a

Best way to predict numbers
Quote: Originally posted by prob987 on April 08, 2004Yeah, I do. But I think our problem lies in that we are talking about two different situations. I am buying two quickpicks, as described in my original post, to demonstrate that one can in fact routinely experience beating the odds of 1 in 1.8 X 10^16. I am not doing it to see if I can produce two equivalent tickets. The odds of producing a quick pick of arbitrary sequence is indeed exactly equal to winning the lottery. The odds of prod

Close call......
The 5-from-6 was the last line in an eighteen game quick pick......I only ever play quick-picks. Just as a matter of interest......things are a bit different over here with the types of tickets on offer. Whereas in the US you have 5 lines to a ticket, over here they offer all sorts of tickets for sale, like:12, 18 and 24 game quick-picks (12,18 or 24 games) and System games like a System 8, which is any 6 from 8 , which is 28 games. (System games run from System 7 to System 20).If you want

Quote: Originally posted by JohnC on April 08, 2004I just thought that you guys might be interested to know that I recently had my best-ever result in Tattslotto , which is the Australian Saturday night lottery. Tattslotto is a 6-from-45 draw and a couple of weeks ago (for the first time ever), I had 5 numbers. As well as the 6 numbers, the lottery guys also draw two supplementary numbers, which are similar to the New York lotto bonus ball. On two occasions in the past, I have had 4 numbers

Best way to predict numbers
prob987,There are two situations.1. What are the odds that the following ticket (1, 12, 23, 32, 41, MB13) is selected twice in a row using quick picks? Answer: (1 in 135,000,000) squared.2. What are the odds that any two quick picks match exactly. Answer: First you buy one quick pick. The odds of getting any combination is 1 in 1 because any combination will do. Then you buy a second ticket where the numbers must match the first ticket, odds of 1 in 135,000,000. The factor of the two odds is 1 i
