What would you do if you won the lottery?
I wouldn't go public. I would get a good honest lawyer before I claimed my winnings and at least try and claim through a blind trust. After that I would get independent professional financial advice.

Girl struck by lightning, wins lottery
Somebody called the Ohio lottery claiming they had the winning ticket and inquired about setting up a blind trust. I've read where more people get struck by lightning than win MM jackpots but never read the odds on people waiting to validate their ticket.

$196M Ohio lottery winner trying to claim anonymously?
It seems like I read a story on here a while back about a woman who got the money put into a blind trust but whose name was revealed anyway. Does that ring a bell with anyone?

In a state like Florida, can even a Blind Trust claim a jackpot? How would one meet the age requirement? Okay, just spell it out to me. What would you say. I need to know. I have a feeling I might need to know someday very soon! LOL. But do please spell out what you would say.

Oklahoma couple claims $106M Powerball lottery jackpot
They should have remained anonymous using a blind trust, like the first Oklahoma Powerball jackpot winner from last year and the winner of the $400,000 Power Play in Oklahoma from a while back. They should have done their research and homework. They will regret going public soon enough....

Setting a trust for anonymity: how does it work?
Here is what I know for Michigan residents regarding this subject. This is a response to my email questions on blind trusts for Mi residents. This information was emailed to me from the Michigan Lottery. The rules of Mega Millions state that any jackpot winner must release - their name and city of orgin . I don't know anything about a blind trust, that would be a question for an attorney. But a check can only be made out to either a winner or a Lottery Club . If you chose to claim your ticket

Here is what I have come up with by reviewing both the Mega Millions and Powerball web sites. I have also listed those states that allow blind trusts. Wh

Is it possible to remain anonymous in NJ through a trust or attorney?
Is it possible to set up a blind trust in Georgia? I doubt it. But what I don't understand is why they would want to post your name when they know the outcome of lottery winners who are exposed to the world.
