Time running out for $7 million NY lottery winner to claim prize
Any unclaimed prize should go straight back to the players pot. The lottery suits rake in billions of dollars every year that they can donate to any worthy cause of their choosing. They should not pretend to be doing good by giving away the players money when they actually rake in billions that they can use for a real worthy cause.

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
I just checked the website as well and the seven $1M prizes are not listed. I received an updated Instant Liability Report dated June 7, 2015, and it shows that there are seven unclaimed $1M prizes. They clearly were not won. The game is 98.33% sold out (closer to 99% because of unclaimed prizes). I also received a list of all of the locations in the state that have books either activated or in their inventory and there are about 2,000 books total in the state. The list is not 100% accurate beca

Should the lottery award jackpot prizes based on video evidence?
It was in Canada where the lottery rules and regulations are probably much different than in the U.S. And I really doubt in the future, that lottery will seek out the winners of every unclaimed prize. It might be good publicity to find the winner and payout a large jackpot, but don't expect the Ohio Lottery to send you a notice saying you forgot to cash that $1 Rolling Cash 5 winning ticket or that matching three number Classic Lotto ticket.

Be sure to check your tickets, because the state won't make any effort to find you if you win
Correct. Although, I think unclaimed prizes shoud be put in a pool and then they can sell raffle tickets to all the unclaimed prize money.

When buying scratch tickets do you buy one or at least two or more of the same ticket at a time?
I read online several months ago to buy at least 8 scratchers of the same game. I bought six and made a small profit. Before I buy any now, I check to see how many unclaimed prizes are left in each prize group. If there's not many unclaimed prizes left, I won't buy scratchers on that particular game.

But just hours before the deadline, Lottery officials announced that a winner came forward. Two weeks ago Pennsylvania Lottery officials started asking players to check their old tickets. Mega lottery bucks go unclaimed every year
I bet 99% of unclaimed prizes are small prizes worth about 1~5 bucks. Most people won't even bother to claim the prize unless it's significantly large.

Mega lottery bucks go unclaimed every year
Imagine the luck: You beat the odds and hit the lottery. Now imagine this kind of luck: You don't even know it. Of all of life's weird twists of fate, this is pretty high up there. You could be living in fat city, if only you had checked your ticket or saved it from your jeans pocket before doing laundry. Last year, more than $600 million in lottery fortunes went unclaimed in the United States. That could build, like, half of a football stadium. In California, $29 million went unclaimed

$26 million in winning Michigan lottery tickets unclaimed
I'm wondering if most of those people who never get their prize money honestly lost their ticket, died or just didn't check to see if they won. I don't always check my tickets right away, but I would never not check them. I get the feeling though, that most of these unclaimed prizes are from people not checking their tickets, which is kind of sad. So much money shouldn't be going unclaimed.
