Elderly S.F. man loses $10,000 in lottery scam
Police are asking for the public's help in their investigation of a lottery scam after a 75-year-old San Francisco man was swindled out of $10,000. According to San Francisco police, the victim received a letter in the mail last week from Global Investment Securities World Trust Services telling him he had won $82,459.61 in the Canadian lottery. The letter included a false notarized letter listing the man's name, address and the amount he had supposedly won and a bogus receipt purporting t

real drawings and predetermined draws
thank's Jim (i might check into the TV station gig.) for your input i am constantly prying info out of any lottery personnel i come in contact with. And i can almost get them to divulge their little secrets about lottery going on's as long as I'm not to pushy. I brought up a conversation about them possibly manipulating the ball drawings--- ie: what i just posted in my last reply and the person said if they were doing that, that she didn't know about it. I could tell she was uneasy with some of

I have a question about payments.
Below is what the State of Georgia does http://www.galottery.com/gen/aboutUs/faq.jsp#14 Q.Are State Federal Taxes withheld on Georgia Lottery Prizes? A.Yes. All Georgia Lottery prizes are subject to applicable federal and state withholdings, and state and federal income taxes. The GLC reports to the IRS and Georgia Department of Revenue the names of winners of prizes of $600 and above. Georgia state income tax of 6% and federal income tax of 25% are withheld from prizes of more than $5,

convicted felons and lottery winnings
LOTTOMIKE There, you have done it again, trying to make me think. Your posts are great. This one is so tough that it makes my head hurt and blood spurt out of my eyes. <G> I suppose one could argue that when a person serves his time in prison he has satisfied his debt to society. Therefore, he should be able to buy and collect winnings from a Lottery. That is why I voted yes in your poll. However, I also agree with other replies that the money should go to compensate the victi

Neural Network and the lottery...
You are quite correct in your comments that neural networks will not predict the winning numbers everytime. They are however very powerful prediction tools that when used with other ai toolsets can reduce your odds and give you more winnings than other methods. The trick is to model the lottery you are playing correctly and then let the system work. Here are the results of the first neural network we created in 1999. We have never changed the model and if you click on the link below you will

N.C. Powerball lottery winners worry what their preacher will think
Truecritic, I could not agree with you more. If anyone tells you their proximity to the WTC makes them right about the Republican's foreign policy, laugh in their face. Ask him why Bush's job approvel rating in NYC and NJ suburbs is at 25%. The Republicans dont win in NY/ NJ where the most lives were lost 9-11 because thinking people there know they are wrong in their policies. Invading and occupying Iraq at an estimated cost of $1-2 trillion when it is all over is the most foolish pol

"Grid" System Selections beginning 8.4.06 Evening
No surprises so far, Chaz. It seems to be running like a well-oiled machine. I never thought that this would be so successful. One drawback is that there are a few states that go through dry spells, which is to be expected. But when you balance it with the others, it's just water under the bridge. Also, its advantageous to look at states that go cold that haven't hit during a one-week period. It would be necessary to adjust which numbers are to be played. People can also look at shorter or

How to tweak boxed 4x3x3 into str8?
My friend sysp34 How are, you? Me, I am getting to be too old and since I quit predicting often as I used too for a while, I am forgetting how to get the winning number, but now, a very little at a time, I am trying to re-learn. It is going to take a while, I am now also trying new ways (They have to do with the filters' skips), so I have to put up with the errors of the trials as I am not backtesting with past draws, but just making workouts and seeing which winning numbers come out an
