The Powerball jackpot increased by $11.9 million to $33 million after a 1 roll. There is very little chance the Powerball jackpot will catch up to Mega Millions. But nonetheless, Powerball is clearly winning the overall race. Since the race began when Mega Millions ticket prices were raised to $5, the Powerball jackpot reached about $1.8 billion twice. Whereas, Mega Millions reached just shy of $1 billion only once. What would it take for Mega Millions to at least pull up along side Powerbal

This is a statistic I do not normally track so it is hard to say if it is a record but it certainly appears to be. Since July 9, 2025 (over 6 months ago), either Powerball or Mega Millions had a jackpot of at least $217 million. The Powerball jackpot was $217 million on July 9 and it rose to $1.79 billion and was won. Then Mega millions took over with a jackpot of $358 million and it rose to $983 million. @ShagE3 Yes, you'd have to establish residency in the new state - buy or rent a property, set up utilities with a billing record, transfer driver licence car rego etc etc - and this wouldn't be quick or cheap. Unless you had money lying around, you'd have to sell your place in the old state first, to fund the shift to the new state. 180 days would be doable, 90 days probably not. It will be 2 more draws to hit the Billion figure. No fanfare in the media that I have noticed. With the ever growing record of 38 rollovers and the trickling jackpot now at $900M/$415.3M Cash will a buy-in frenzy start ? Didn't play the PB last night. Didn't win any $$ on Saturday.
