a "tax" question for those in the know
When the ticket is redeemed.
Another thing to REMEMBER.
If you win say $5,400 in a Pick 4, and you have tickets or scratch offs totaling $5,400 - IT IS A WASH IF YOU ITEMIZE!!! You must keep all of the tickets as receipts in case you are audited.
I know - been there - done that. You can never write off more than what you win.
People think I'm nuts for picking up scratch offs left behind. At tax time, I'm smiling. :-)
p.s. When the lottery commission takes your picture and has

On the weekend we sometimes enjoy visiting antique and thrift stores. I can't begin to tell you how many times we've arrived just in time to see someone carrying out the very treasure I would have bought if we got there first. I've also learned not to say I'll pick that up on the way out, it'll be gone for sure.
Quick Picks, winning is down to the micro-second. A moment off and that winning ticket pops out of one of the other thousands of terminals elsewhere. You're not next, everyone at e

$200,000 Powerball lottery prize goes unclaimed
In some states if he had also said which store, the time, the date and other combinations on the ticket if they were a regular group of numbers he played then there would have been enough evidents to warrant an investigation that might have awarded him the money.
Chances are if he could remember even having a tickets with winning numbers he could have offered more information had he been telling the truth. If he bought a quick pick, chances are he wouldn't have look at it and remembered any

I'll tell you what just happened. I went to the store and bought these that Lottojunky suggested and I got them for midday and tonight....already had a bunch of tickets but saw that post and went back to the store just now got back home...store is real close to me.
872 973 111 489 378 874 and a quick pick...well of course the qp is different for day and night and they were 062 676 so I got one each for day and night.
But the kicker is this when I went to fill out the sheets for the qp's fo

This is really weird!
After playing for a few months or years we notice that not very many combinations with 4 numbers under 10 or with 4 numbers in the teens or twenties are drawn. So when we see a QP with that distribution, we think there is a lesser chance of those numbers being drawn.
That is what I was talking about initially. I have a group of 5 numbers that I occassionally play, but I like the odds of the quick pick better. I've tried wheels and frequency, etc, but since Florida's drawings are not al

Don't Pick on QP!
That's Kakameyme not Kamikaze. IIRC it's originally a Yiddish word that means crazy or something like that but became sort of popular in certain areas of the country back in the day.
Anyway, the thing with QP/EP is that they're at least in some way random, people tend to have a problem with real randomness, which is at least in part why so many people pick patterns or use numbers of significance, though those do tend to win once in awhile. So many picks are quick picks and maybe since th
