Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
At the $2 rate, I am leaning that this would have been extremely close to $2 Billion. #1) Powerball: $2.0401 billion, Nov. 7, 2022 ( 40 rollovers , starting at $20 million) #2) Powerball: $1.7874 billion, Sep. 6, 2025 ( 41 rollovers , starting at $20 million) #9) Powerball: $1.3259 billion, Apr. 6, 2024 ( 40 rollovers , starting at $20 million) #12)Powerball: $1.0798 billion, Jul. 19, 2023 ( 38 rollovers , starting at $20 million)

I built a Powerball prediction AI.
I'm currently doing grad school research in AI, and just for fun I built a Powerball prediction AI. It's completely free to use, no signup needed. I trained it on all past draw data with deep learning, and it generates numbers by spotting patterns and filtering out unlikely ones. Search deeptto powerball on google

Why do so many in CA win powerball?
Indiana has the most powerball winners because it's an original member of powerball since 1990. California didn't join powerball until 2013. I can't remember the last time Indiana won a powerball but a comparison for a 100M jackpot this year. Indiana sold $263,774 whereas California sold $2,200,628 in tickets. Florida sold $1,557,906 and North Dakota sold $27,106. Think of each state as a person. The person that consistently buys A LOT more tickets is going to win more often.

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
Even though Powerball is clearly winning this race, the Powerball jackpot is growing at much lower rates than its record runs. Lottery sales for the big national games are down. This is probably the main reason the Mega Millions game was recently changed. Many of the Powerball records were set when the draws were held twice a week. When they went to three draws per week, naturally sales per draw went down. The current Powerball jackpot at $426 million was reached after 27 rolls. But, the 27

89 second prize winners for the powerball
I would say most winners are self picks if your state lottery powerball play slip was organized with 5 rows of numbers per ticket for the white balls for an easy pattern to play. Lots of Keno players play patterns so not unusual. Someone should tally all the state powerball play slips that won and see how many have 5 rows of numbers for easy pattern play. Look at Florida Powerball play slip which is the anti play slip for pattern selection with lots of rows for white ball selection.

Once in a blue moon powerball X10
The once in a blue moon Powerball X10 multiplier was a big win for the 5 players that had the power play on their ticket. From $50K to $500K - their new year is indeed jolly.

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
I just noticed there is a change in plans for our pool. The pool bought both Mega Millions and Powerball tickets this time. Mega Millions for Friday and Powerball for Saturday. That would really be something if the pool won both games on the same weekend. There would be one heck of an investigation. The Mega Millions tickets had one 5 times multiplier and one 4 times multiplier. No multiplier option selected for the Powerball tickets.

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
That is exactly what I was thinking would happen. I suspected that although people are upset about the price increase for Mega Millions tickets, if the jackpot reaches $1 Billion, almost every lottery player will buy at least one MM ticket. If that happens, Mega Millions will make enough of a profit (at least comparable to previous years) that not only will MM keep selling tickets at $5 price, but honestly, I actually think Powerball will eventually follow suit. I stopped playing Mega Millions a
