One thing I truly miss is bump up to the jackpot like in the good old days. Gone for good I'd say. Considering that they've done it 4 times in the last 4 months it hardly seems like it no longer happens. Changing to 3 drawings per week has a minor effect, but the real issue is that lottery sales per drawing are generally slower than they used to be. So...why you think lottery officials pre-test if the numbers suppose to be random to begin with? And I already debated and established that it has nothing to do with making sure the machine working properly. I've given this some thought. They really don't need to run any pre-tests.
