U.K. National Lottery going on 36-hour break for huge technology upgrade
To me it would like a lot of marketing spin ....
they were supposed to convert to their system when they took over (Feb 2024) and are about 18 months late. Were also supposed to bring back the price of Lotto to GBP1 (today it is GBP 2) and to increase contribution to good causes. Until now have done none of that .... we shall see.
Also, to say that they have invested already GBP350M in the contract sounds a little stretched. Hopefully someone will want to check them on that.

The idea that a vast number of galaxies should imply a vast number of civilizations is the basis of the Fermi Paradox. The paradox questions: if the probabilities of extraterrestrial life are so high, where are they?
To try to estimate the probability, scientists use the Drake Equation, which

By Kate Northrop
Two $1 million winning raffle tickets, one each from the Virginia Lottery and Idaho Lottery's annual raffles, will expire on the same day if their respective winners don't lay claim to them.
Two Virginia and Idaho lottery players were fortunate enough to win the $1 million top prize in their respective state raffle, but they'll go by the wayside in less than a week if they don't come forward to claim them.
