According to the news article that mikeintexas posted, There were unclaimed winning tickets worth: $77 million in Georgia on June 2011. $68 million on 12/24/02. August 2006 in Queens, NY worth $31 million. Why? The winning ticket stuffed into the car console with a hundred other unclaimed tickets. The ticket blew out an open window. The dog ate it.

Very interesting article. That is why one would have to keep themselves intellectually challenged. Another article says his wife is from Vietnam, so the Asian gentleman is probably a son or inlaw. He said he'll donate to St. Judes, Shriner's, and Wounded Warrior. Good. The scary thing is he won on Saturday and picks up cash (giant check) on Tues. I hope he had enough time to get the proper legal/tax/financial advisers lined up! For me, if I win the MegaMillions jackpot, I will invest in a chicken ranch with mutant large chickens. Then I'll sell the eggs as Megga Eggas .

Thank You KY Floyd for this very informative article on Charities. There is a lot more to them besides giving them a check. Have you heard of Donor Advised Funds ? I believe it is like a foundation but less restrictions are placed on it. A winner will have the best attorneys to fight the IRS.
