I play here or there on a Friday but I always check the weekly winners and it seems like people barely win the second prize nowadays. The Michigan lottery commissioner abruptly resigned yesterday. There was a decline in revenue in 2024 and I'm wondering if 2025 revenue is either flat or declining. If so does it have anything to do with the Mega Millions? I'm sure the LP is digging into it and will have a story soon. Maybe it's just a coincidence that the resignation happened so quickly after the person at Mega Millions was changed?

We have our pool tickets for the Tuesday draw. The best we did was a 3 times multiplier. This is two draws is a row where the highest multiplier was a 3. The Powerball jackpot is also large enough for our pool to play. So when the Mega Millions jackpot is won, we can switch to playing Powerball. We have played the Mega Millions game 15 draws in a row. If the Mega Millions jackpot rolls four more times, it will break the 36 roll record for Mega Millions. The odds the jackpot is won in the next draw is about 3.3%. Lets say the odds for each of the next fours draws averages out to 3.5%, then the odds the jackpot rolls at least 4 more times is about 87%. The Powerball record is 41 rolls.
