N.C. couple's winning lottery ticket purchased in S.C.
Traveling from their summer home in Florida, Dick and Colleen purchased lottery tickets in every state along the way.
I hope the article is wrong. Anyone who has a summer home in Florida is a little crazy unless you're part mosquito. I think it probably should read that they were traveling from their winter home in Florida.
This is the time of year all of the snowbirds travel north.
By the way, DoubleDown, I have no idea what a moon pie is, so I guess that means I'm still a Yanke

$75M Texas Lotto winner a 'regular player'
From the article:
The winner selected the cash value option when he bought the ticket, meaning that instead of annual payments he would get a one-time payout less than the jackpot amount.
I don't think he has any choice, Just6ntlc!

A Model for What to do with the Jackpot You just Won
This article has been discussed before on LP. Here is one link if you want to read several additional posts.

I agree with other posters here that everyone has a different plan. I've taken big risks and I've made tons of money and I've lost tons of money. There is a percentage you invest when you're young in each risk category (high, medium, low) but security becomes more important as you get older. If I

Grandma's lottery ticket detour pays off
I had the chance to work with Margie when she came to our offices with her ticket on Monday, and let me tell you - this article doesn't come even close to capturing what a spitfire she was! I can't say I've seen any other 73-year-old with long blond hair dancing around our offices before, but Margie put on quite a show. My favorite thing she said - when she called one of her sons to tell him about her win, she asked what he was doing when he answered the phone. He said he was in the bathroom, to

Last week was the Nigerian scam article on Dateline. (I don't know, can you view last weeks online?)
This week, tonite, is about ID theft.
Dateline 8pm. NBC.
ps - Did I read you are going to use a friend's phone? Huh? You wouldn't be my friend for long after that! LOL

Need Help With GH Program
Back in the late 80's or early 90's some one gave me their copy of a GH program on a 5 floppy that was written in Basic and saved with the protect feature. Sometime later BYTE magazine had an article about how to view a program saved that way, I looked at the program and decided I could write my own and that was the start of the program I'm still using today which is written using GWBasic and compiled using a QBasic compiler.
I would think if you know the format of the data the Neurolot pr

What if?
It's a safe assumption that anyone who has a website can track the IP of anyone who visits. Pages here used to specifically say IP address logged. How useful that IP is varies. Knowing the IP usually means you know the geographic area where that user connected to the internet, but knowing that somebody who says they won is posting from Cape May NJ wouldn't matter much if there's also a news article saying a winning lottery ticket was sold near Cape May.
Of course, if an ISP gets a subpoena

Georgia Trucker Claims Half of Record $390 Million Lottery Jackpot
ambelamba...you are half right. In California they will release your name. If you want to claim as an entity they require the name of a natural person who will get the funds which will be released. They do not release the city of residence but they do release where the ticket was purchased.
One Does NOT have to go through a press conference. The most recent example of this was Richard Roberts who won a SLP jackpot in July of last year for $110 million. He declined the press conference saying

Georgia Trucker Claims Half of Record $390 Million Lottery Jackpot
According to a story I read today at msnbc, Mr. Nabors claims his big win won't change him. He said he would continue to live his life as before March 6.
Despite rushing to claim his winnings right away he does sound like a pretty down to earth guy. He said he just bought a boat before winning (the article here seems to have it wrong), so it sounds like he's not planning to rush out and buy any expensive toys, and his plan is to get some property and go fishing rather than move to Palm Be
