After alleged lottery ticket theft, store banned from ticket sales
That might work fine for your group, but everyone in that pool were machinists, electricians and maintenance repairmen who were working a lot of overtime and some of their tax brackets could have been nearer $30% so no one wanted to take a chance if they had a good year. Besides, regular taxpayers have to combine their lottery loses with their overall loses due to interest on debt and other expenses associated with their work and exceed the standard $4500 allowance everyone gets regardless be

North Carolina: 10/1 - 10/31/2016
Well, I can't speak for everyone but I was already discouraged --that's why I decided to save my money and not play-- but it was nice to see that I was playing the right numbers and would have won had it not been for 3 pre-draws everyday. I'm sure when they finally do drop the green ball, it won't be any number anyone will be playing. We know NCEL better than that. By the way, I find it hard to believe that if you buy a $1 exact ticket and win $500 that would double to $1000 should the green bal

Ohio man wins lottery, beaten and robbed at local bar
what once did exist no longer exists. there wouldn't be enough business for these alleged crime factions to bother to continue running a numbers racket. no taxes sure but anyone can avoid those by playing smaller denomination tickets (.25) will not get you a tax ticket on a 3 digit number. and who is going to bother going to the shoe repair shop to play a number that will pay more than the 600.00 with a mobster type. at least with the state they know they will get paid. hard to believe the nj lo

Ct. man claims he lost $254M Powerball ticket
In my case, I buy tickets just about every day and am normally very well organized. It happened. Oh, well. My mess up. If you do save your losing tickets, you may need more than just the losing tickets to offset taxes. Anyone can collect losing tickets from friends, co- workers etc. You need to keep a detailed record of what you spent, when you spent it, where you spent it, and having receipts would better yet. The I.R.S. wants receipts for every thing else, why would gambling loses be any di
