Lottery Profits
In WI the lottery profits don't go to education. They are intended to go to help reduce Property Taxes. (WI is one of the highest-taxed states in the union. Our state politicians have never seen a tax proposal they dislike.) But even with that, with reassessments of property, the taxes get little relief. Maybe 80 bucks/yr for the average person, and that's a drop in the bucket. Personally, I feel if the govt is involved at trying to make things better it always ends up failing. I don't

Oklahoma lottery winner says yes to TV; no to marriage proposals
I am happy for every winner. Like Bunky and the others, I don't understand why these people don't just say thanks and go home. Of course then we wouldn't have all these threads on the Lottery News! I hope she recovers from her surgery and doesn't get too hoarse from talking so much to the media. Depends on her mane goal. If she's not careful she might come down with a colt it could turn out to be a real night mare if she's not a stable person. I hope she doesn't foal around with her new

Why do people try to justify their desire to win the Lottery?
Yes, I believe that this could happening ... There was at least two or more Churches that has this tendency. Igreja International da Gra a de Deus somehow declineated this type of proposal , even when having financial problem to pay for public TV space. Wesleyan Methodists and Catholics also share this , the strange is that not all members believed into those things. Even if Wesleyan Methodists would believe in the good vibrations (vibes) and could listen to the characteristic sounds

The Magic Strings
Lottolaughs, I was attempting to test the last 50 draws in TX using your date formula with division by 1.618 and I was using the Microsoft calculator from accessories, It rounds off differently and the decimal point was in different places, so if there is not a way around that, i might have to do this in excel. We need to at least a 50 draw test on a game or an eve or mid game for each state game, to identify if the tool hit and how strings did it have to create before it got a winner and finall

N.J. is next state to consider bad election lottery idea
By Charles Paolino Home News Tribune, New Jersey Who wants to be a millionaire? That's the question Assemblyman Patrick Diegnan wants to ask potential voters or, at least, that's one way to express the theme of a bill he's proposing in the state Legislature. Diegnan, a Democrat representing the 18th District, is one of two legislators suggesting that a lottery be held each year on Dec. 31 for a million-dollar prize to be awarded a registered voter who cast a ballot that year in a pri

Frist continues crusade against Internet gambling
According to CongressDailyAM, one of the publications staff, members, and lobbyists read every morning on Capitol Hill, negotiations on the DoD Authorization conference report are still underway. The leaders of the two committees failed to wrap up conference negotiations on the defense authorization bill Thursday, as members had initially intended. House Armed Services Tactical Air and Land Subcommittee Chairman Curt Weldon, R-Pa., said members still have to complete work on a handful of issu

More offshore gambling arrests
Yes, there plenty of elbow room for differing beliefs , but only one set of laws. Numbers 1-4 make sense, but number 5 is very unclear. I think number 5 may even be wrong. I also don't understand your sentence, However, might happens to amount to right, and you are definitely on the right side on this issue. Laws are by definition a manifestation of society's collective morality, so to say that people are discouraged from imposing their moral values is more of a philosophical propos

Don’t turn the voting process into a lottery
Horse ! Senators and Representatives are bribed and politically influenced, every day, for their vote, whether they admit it or not. This proposal has nothing to do with corrupting the voting process, and everything to do with exciting the electorate to get out and exercise their right to vote. A candidate with enough money can spend millions of his own money to promote and publicize themselves, and buy the election. The only people who make money, and a mockery of the process, are our ele

Online gambling threatened by U.S. legislators
I'm very much in favor of individual state lotteries being able to sell tickets online. Were it legal then I would do so in the comfort of my own home just like any other online purchase. .... also feel that ticket sales would be increased for all state lotteries set up to sell online. I suppose the bill being considered before congress is why Georgia tabled their online ticket sales proposal until whatever legislation makes its way through on a federal level.
