Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Inflation affects the cost of operating the game, Inflation also affects state budgets that are partially funded by lotteries. Inflation itself isn't a direct reason for the price increase. Decreasing lottery revenue and efforts to prop it up are the reason, so inflation is an indirect cause. Of course the flip side of that coin is that most players do account for the price/risk of a bet to some degree. Here's the revenue for the first 5 drawings of the last 3 MM runs (current run on le

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
A high Powerball jackpot can increase sales for Mega Millions. Mega Millions produced two life changing wins last night: 3 million in Arizona, and 7.3 million in California.

$5 a shot for playing 1:292 M odds. everyone would have problem to get over the cost efficiency: it's not worthed it, and it's not fun (one would spend $1 buck to buy a dream)! Yes, Mega Millions ticket sales have dropped significantly since the price increased from $2 to $5 in April 2025 . Data from state lotteries indicates that the number of tickets sold has declined by roughly 24% to 30%. While casual players are less willing to buy tickets at the higher price, the 150% price increas

Arizona Lottery adds $4.5 million to The Pick jackpot to celebrate 45th anniversary, new Pick 4 game
Even though I don't live in LA, I emailed Louisiana lottery and I was told adding a second game would be too costly considering the player base. I told them that a second draw would increase demand. No one wants to play a game where there is only one chance to win.

Rising Gas Prices and the Lottery
Same here I'm blessed to have a union gig. And my job is approximately 15 minutes from my house. Even though I'm sick and tired of playing. I'm still fortunate enough and thankful to be able to buy tickets. I do feel sorry for the people who have been priced out. Due to the increase. Good luck everyone!

Balancing Odds and Cost 😁
The money sits there waiting for someone to win it in a future drawing. It doesn't increase because double play does not have a progressive jackpot contribution. That's why it's only $1 rather than $2.

US Powerball multi-state lottery game expanding to the UK
Actually l support this idea 100 percent. And l tell you why. Powerball has two options raise Price like Mega million or increase players. This means one thing Powerball will grow faster and can eventually hit $3,000,000,000 to $4,000,000,000 to $5,000,000,000 all in two months instead of three months. Any Big Jackpot is perfect for JoeBiglotto Plus UK currency is always Neck and Neck with US dollars so perfect.

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
You're avoiding the question. Players are aware of the different prices, I'm asking why MM is criticized for jackpot increases of $10M and PB isn't for a $8.8M increase. Also not every PB player plays $2, some play $3, so there goes your two and a half times cost.
