About once a week I get an email saying my yahoo email address was assigned the winning lotto numbers in the UK, Australian, Euro, Canadian, Nigeria, or North Pole lotteries. These are usually secondary prizes ranging from $500K to a couple million. I always thought income was based on where it was earned, not where you live, but I've had a similar question. Every state is the US has different tax policies. I live in California. California neither taxes residents nor taxes non-residents if they win a lottery that is played within the state of California. Hi justfocus I like your approach and intention, if i told you my story you will probably think i am crazy and yes i have spent 5 years (everyday) trying to understand the logic behind lottery.
