Lottery win question
Short sweet: If I won the Mega Millions or Powerball Jackpot, I would do the following. 1. Run my credit report and pay off any outstanding debts within the last two years only. 2. Pay off my house and current existing debt such as student loans. 3. Depending on how much I won, I would pull out @ least $4 million in cash to put in a secured bank safety deposit box. Explanation: Stock market crash, banking system fails, you'll be able start over comfortable even if your money has to be c

a better way
About once a week I get an email saying my yahoo email address was assigned the winning lotto numbers in the UK, Australian, Euro, Canadian, Nigeria, or North Pole lotteries. These are usually secondary prizes ranging from $500K to a couple million. I also get emails from bankers or the widows of the former finance ministers of some war torn countries who are offering me thousands for using my US bank account to transfer the funds. I don't know for a fact that everyone of these are scams but I'm

State Tax
I always thought income was based on where it was earned, not where you live, but I've had a similar question. Every state is the US has different tax policies. I live in California. California neither taxes residents nor taxes non-residents if they win a lottery that is played within the state of California. California does tax California residents on external lottery winnings (gambling winnings from another state). Furthermore, California does not tax winnings from Indian Casinos in Calif

Record EuroMillions winners in hiding after begging avalanche
Revisionist history, Delta Draw. Those times were so far different from today that many like you fail to understand what life was truely like. You attempt wrongly to apply today's standards to an era that existed 200 years ago and more. In Jefferson's day, true freedom was in its infancy, born with the Constitution of The United States of America. The Constitution was born of the ideas of the Magna Carta, written some 500 years prior. Regarding slavery: Africans were not the only slaves, and

Spain's Christmas lottery is still "El Gordo"
In tough times, Spaniards trim trees, not their lottery ticket purchases Includes video report On the morning of Dec. 22, Spain will be glued to radios and TV sets. A monotonous chant of children's voices will float through the air of homes, cafeterias and offices for hours. It is the lyrical event of the season, a kickoff to Christmas celebrations.
