PB Drawing for Saturday 03-06-04
well, backtesting may not be a good choice because of the influence knowing the results can have, but if you just keep your data for each new drawing... then see how far off it was....Don't forget that you can search out some of your old posts to fill in the gaps without unintentionally skewing the data....good luck

Could the Key to PB be the PowerPlay?
Maybe a mind full of chaos is what is needed!I don't keep powerball data before the change to 5/53 + 1/42. If you have indeed found a way to relate all 3 results (PowerPlay, Powerball, White Balls) that would really be something!I have kept this data separated. I have never won more than $100 this way (and that was only ONCE)... I'm game for anything. All of my PB theories are posted in the jackpot section... let us know what it is you are working with, I can help with backtesting and refinements

Excel Help needed...formula
I just got finished importing all of my excel data into an MS access database, maybe I will have better luck there figuring out the counting of skips for use with backtesting...excel file is 36MB, access file is only 7 megs.. ;-)

Open Discussion: Define/Refine Prediction
interesting side note, the best performing numbers tend to have from 9 months to 3 YEARS between occurrences as straights, but much more frequent BOX recurrences....To play THAT system, just count the combo frequencies, and take the top 10... should hold true for any state, but I have only toyed with PA's data...Also, I'm still not actually playing until some serious positive and repeatable results are observed via backtesting...

julian first number look!!
B.U.G. Thanks for the link...I'm working on using a pseudo julian date (1/1/1980=1 or 1/1/2003=1 etc, number resets after each 1/1). JUlian dates seem to be a hot topic as of late and I'm wondering if there is anything to it.Everyone mentions a rundown, but I still don't get exactly what the end result is (what the pick is supposed to be). I'd like to write an excel macro that does the rundown and then plug it into the entire history for backtesting, but I don't see where the pick is.

PB Drawing for Wednesday 12/17/03
Quote: Originally posted by hypersoniq on December 16, 2003 backtesting has been less than stellar ( if you played the mode since draw one of the new matrix, you wouldn't have made as much as you spent)I'm officially an idiot, I never backtested for out of position matches... apparently the corrected mode would have matched $5000 on the 17th draw of 5/53 + 1/42... doh!Now I need to rework some excel magic to test for out of position matches in ALL the old systems... any ideas?

System Backtesting
I thought I'd share some backtesting results here that some of you may find useful. I myself don't play using any of these systems and I have no bias for or against any of these systems. This just some informative FYI.
These results are from the lakerben Gem system in the state of NM. The results really don't help much for choosing which HOD (see below) to play. The purpose of this is to test various systems to see which ones have the best potential in any given state. What works well in one

Weekly Combos for All States... Forever
Just to clarify. Instead of putting weekly in the title of this forum I should've put that this is a 7 drawing forecast for all states. It doesn't matter how many drawings a day your state has. So far, as a result of my backtesting, I expect this list to win at least two times within 7 drawings. For me, this strategy is like discovering a mathematical constant which is why I put forever at the end of the title of this topic. My theory is that the accuracy of the strategy that creates this list w
