I looked at the recent 1 year treasury rates. Rates haven't increase that much in 2026. 37 million is a considerable rollover amount. I think sales are stronger for mega millions because of the difference in jackpot size from Powerball. If i am missing something let me know.

$5 for a single Mega Millions lottery ticket is insane. In Florida we can buy a $5 grouper and get a $3 lotto, $1 Jackpot triple play, a free $1 fantasy , and a $1 straight pick 4. We can buy a $2 lotto, $2 Powerball, and a $1 fantasy 5 ticket for $5 The lottery commission is out of their minds charging $5 for a single Mega Millions ticket when we can get more tickets for the same price.

So you are saying that the first ticket is up against 292,201,338 odds and the second ticket eliminates 146,100,669 combinations. IF ONLY! Start with 292,201,338 and go down the list by subtracting 1 each time until you have subtracted 100 from 292,201,338 which is 292,201, 238. That's how it works, not voo doo math.
