Oregon Lottery adds slot games to video poker machines
The electronic version of one-arm bandits is coming to Oregon bars and restaurants this summer.Under prodding from Gov. Ted Kulongoski, the Oregon State Lottery Commission voted unanimously Wednesday to allow slot-machine-style games on the state's network of video-poker terminals. That means more than 2,200 bars and restaurants across Oregon could offer electronic slots as soon as July 1. But first the state must persuade retailers to accept new contracts that reduce their share of video-poker

Record Powerball lottery winner ordered into substance abuse program
Quote: Originally posted by Todd on December 9, 2004I couldn't disagree stronger. Your statement is a slap in the face of some very courageous men who framed one of the greatest documents ever. It established a basic set of rules that formed the greatest country the world has ever known.Don't say that you weren't talking badly about the men themselves, or some other justification, because you went on to criticize those men for a number of different things.______________________________________

Tenn. lottery fans make fewer runs for the Kentucky border
Gene Dotson is something of a video-game-stool philosopher of luck.As a regular lottery player, the retiree from Nashville has good reason to think about these things.''Is there such a thing called luck?'' Dotson asked Tuesday, a twinkle in his eye and a cigarette between two fingers as he played a video poker game at a lottery outlet just north of the Tennessee-Kentucky line, 36 miles from home. ''Is it who you are? ''Why do people keep doing it? Why do I keep doing it?''Whatever the cosmic an

Psychic predictions (I am getting results
Hypersong I wonder if visualization is harder now than it would have been maybe 40 or 50 years ago... Have read that the current energies present support a greater ability to create and manifest than in very recent years, also years long past. The earth has had a magnetic grid shift 3 degrees northwest over the past 10 or so years which caused us to lose our grounding during the process. Grounding into the earth is necessary in order to manifest anything. Grid shift is complete as of about

Does God really hate gambling?
Here's what I found on Bible.com, I don't know if there is any truth to their statements, since I don't read the bible myself, but it's worth taking a look at. In my opinion, sin is a sin, that is the best way someone could have ever said it. We sin each day, we probably don't even notice our sins. If you feel so strongly against gambling, or feel guilty on putting $5.00 on a lottery game, then you probably shouldn't play. Jack W. didn't mind to gamble and he is a Christian, and said it was t

Using the CRUNCH - 220 Draws Method
Hell, Everyone,It took me awhile to get back. I think partly because I kept clicking on the link in my e-mail and it kept taking me to a blank page for some reason. Anyway, as I reading through some of the comments about The Crunch and some of the methods used, I must say that I have to agree with what Mike is doing right now. Also, I think that the biggest thing is for most people, is that they absolutely must do their own homework on the game that they are playing. I do think that now, after

Tenn. lottery scholarship standards under scrutiny
Some Tennessee students who qualify for the first lottery scholarships this fall may be slipping through a window that won't be open long.Current law says high school students with either a 3.0 grade point average or a 19 score on the ACT college entrance exam qualify for one of the lottery scholarships, which range from $1,500 to $4,000 a year. The first version of the lottery scholarship bill that passed last year required both a 3.0 GPA and a 19 on the ACT, with the standardized test score int

Oregon Lottery Drops Plan to Cut Taverns' Commissions
The Oregon Lottery director said Monday that she plans to rework her controversial proposal to cut bar and tavern owners' video poker compensation.Director Brenda Rocklin's initial proposal turned out to yield far less revenue for state-funded programs than first estimated, prompting calls from education advocates and others for more drastic reductions in the share of video poker proceeds that bars and taverns are allowed to keep as compensation. But bars, taverns and restaurants and their trade

Oregon pays lottery sites larger share, audit finds
Leaders say the report shows retailers' portion of proceeds should be cut, but a lobbyist disagreesThe Oregon State Lottery pays retailers a bigger cut than similar operations do, a state auditors' report says, a finding that could bolster a long-standing drive to lower the compensation that bars and taverns get for carrying video poker machines.Oregon retailers receive on average 32 percent of the net proceeds from video poker -- about $159 million last fiscal year -- according to the report re
