Just my two cents...mega only if it's WAY up there and then minimal. NEVER the Powerball without the power play. Adjust the number of tickets purchased to include the extra buck. I have a group lottery that I will not join because of no power play. It makes no sense to me and I'm better off on my own.

Here is further evidence Powerball is still winning the race. ... After 5 Mega Millions draws .. PB has fairly consistently grown faster than MM, including under the $2 per ticket format, because of the 3rd weekly drawing, with short variations when MM has a really big jackpot. Point taken. Does the state advertise that 2nd place prize will be approximately $171,000? I've been to California a few times but I didn't pay any attention to Powerball jackpot advertising.

I belong to a pool that plays Mega Millions and Powerball. The manager of the pool also has pools for UK Lotto. I have not participated in the pools but I see they often win. For example, they played last week and won more money than they spent. This is always a good thing.

It kind of feels like beating a dead horse but I'm not surprised that the jackpot for Mega Millions isn't growing as quickly, even after the Powerball jackpot was won. Out of the 15 free megamillions tickets I had for Tuesday, I only got one megaball. At least it was 4x so I spent the $20 on a Powerball ticket with 4 advance plays and got one more free MM for tomorrow night. It's only 2x.

The Mega Millions jackpot has increased by $23 million to $381 million after 21 consecutive rolls. This is a surprisingly small increase given the Powerball jackpot was won recently and is only $33 million. This is caused in part to a lowering of interest rates.
