The Pot is Hot - Gotta Get Some of That
How thrilled I was to see that no one claimed last night's Powerball Jackpot; especially since I didn't buy any tickets. LOL. The pot is a whopping 205 million dollars. Now that's some pretty good walking around money. I predict a lot of low numbers this Saturday. I have yet to work out which numbers I will play, but I have a couple of unique ideas of how to come of with them. For instance, my nines will be flipped to sixes when backtesting. What are some tricks you like to use?Keeping a

Free System Discount

Free systems are the only way to go. Never bought one, never will. Are you quicker to abandon a free system if it doesn't hit right away?I usually s

Neural Networks- Applicable to Lottery?
I never had to get past backtesting with this... I kept detailed records, and the numbers picked were almost identical to the excel forecast function, no better, no worse... time to throw NN's on the back burner... but I must say, RAPID development is one very cool plus of the Java based JOONE engine ;-)Data Mining... Neural network based classification has failed on several automated attempts, using both my own modified formulas (on open source excel VBA programs) and using several demo version

pick 3 winners?
Attrasoft backtesting update.Using a sample size of 35 (as previously recommended) my hits came in at 92% so far. The avg. numbers produced was between 6-8.This sample was using only the third digit so far, i will be testing the first and second digit later on tonight. My parameters for the testing are Data Quantization(10),N-day(2) then select Predict (Bearish Predict Linear). I did try testing all three digits together, results were a terrible 46% success rate yielding between 6-9 numbers. I

pick 3 winners?
I think I got it to work if you round up each of the results. Doing some backtesting using the last 25 day draws(2003) for tx. pick3. I got the following results running predictions for each position. Let me know your results.First positionPossibility Confidence*Probability [ 6.93 , 7.92) 2[ 7.92 , 8.91) 1[ 1.98 , 2.97) 9[ 8.91 , 9.9) 1[ 2.97 , 3.96) 8[ 0.99 , 1.98) 2[ 5.94 , 6.93) 4Second positionPossibility Confidence*Probabi

Could the Key to PB be the PowerPlay?
keep in mind that the numbers themselves have no innate mathematical properties... What we would look for here would be nothing more than coincidence... but hey, whatever works is good enough, right?I am currently working on the pick 3 in PA... refining an idea that has passed 27 years of backtesting to keep the player 9,000 to the good based on playing $8 a day... I am refining this to get down to 1 pick... I think I may have some things to take from that system and dventually apply to the powe

Pick 3 System
Quote: Originally posted by Millennium on February 19, 2004 No one else has tried? No word from hypersoniq either?! Win D? I can see the How of the system, Still figuring out the Why and how to implement it into excel for long-term backtesting... maybe RANK() by position and then read each as a combo and run it against the Straight/Boxed hit check formula? Getting it into excel will make it easier to test each position for optimal draw history and get instant feedback on the overall performa

Longest skips and the PA midday...
you go back far enough in history to get the appearance of each number in each position to get a pick... I go back to day 1 for backtesting, just to see how well it worked. If you use Microsoft excel, this link describes how to set it up to count skips for you... but the LOOKUP function doesn't work right so the combo needs to be entered by hand...https://www.lotterypost.com/thread/80235.htmto set it up on paper, it would look like this...#---pos1---pos2---pos31---063----000----0152---019----011-

Open Discussion: Define/Refine Prediction
I just got finished the surprisingly painless procedure of starting my PA pick3 and pick4 Access Database with data imported from the excel sheets... just the basics...1. Draw number as primary key2. draw date3. combo4,5,6... individual numbers by position7. Day of Week (hint... data type date/time with format of 'ddd' ... just like excel)I have to whip up 4 update queries, because there are 4 tables... pick3 MID, pick3 EVE, pick4 MID and pick4 EVE. I am hoping this makes analysis and backtestin
