Call me a conspiracy theorist but, what I see is a billion dollar jackpot before September to 'welcome' the UK players. Which will be split between a UK ticket and a US state. I'm not saying they control the numbers... but they sure as hell know about the probability cycle and they can estimate when a draw is close to winning. Selling an Annuity
I am thinking of trying to buy Powerball tickets in United Kingdom. My motive is to claim the jackpot and pay no taxes. But I do not want to keep the annuity. Does anyone have experience in dealing with annuities? How difficult is it to sell an annuity for close to its present day value? Thanks.

Fun race to watch. If I'm betting on which one gets caught first, I'd actually lean Powerball purely on cadence - three draws a week vs two means more chances to roll AND more chances to die. Mega's been the slow burner since the format change (1 in 290.5M vs PB's 1 in 292.2M, so basically identical odds per line now), but fewer draws per week means MM jackpots age slower. Looks like our pool has switched games and is now playing Powerball. I wonder why? Mega Millions has the much bigger jackpot and even though we have not been winning with the game, I am willing to keep taking chances and go for the bigger jackpot. I have sent the organizer a message asking for the reason for the switch. Hopefully I get an answer and will report back here. So far Michigan has offered me two free mega millions tickets if I buy 6 then they tried the same thing only with free Powerball tickets if I got 6 mega tickets then the offer changed to free 6/47 tickets. Mega is on its 31st roll and is nowhere near a billion. I guess the only question now is Will it break the 46 roll record? . I have not seen promotions like this for any other ticket recently. Our pool did not win anything in the latest Mega Millions draw. This further extends our huge loosing streak. Looking forward to when the tide finally turns. We have tickets for the Friday draw.
