Actually, hitting a straight twice in a row IS 1 in 1,000,000. This thread was about the odds of having two successive quick picks be the same number. The reason it is 1 in 1,000 is that no matter what the first number is, there are no odds associated with it. HOWEVER, in the case of WINNING twice in a row, there ARE odds associated with the first win. Those odds are 1 in 1,000. Winning on the second day is also 1 in 1,000. The odds of hitting both drawings in a row is therefore 1 in 1,000

Actually, it's no more rare for someone to win using a quick-picks than it is to win with combinations pick other ways. Statistically speaking, quick picks and personally picked combinations win proportionately to their use. More QP win because they are 70% or more of the combinations played.

Duke2011,you can play any sets of numbers you want.Some folks like to play what they consider to be lucky numbers,over over.Others choose to play numbers that they wheeled themselves.Still others always play quick picks.Whichever way you pick the numbers is entirely up to you.

Given that 70 to 80% of jackpot winners played a Quick Pick (lottery stats, not mine), I'd say timing is everything , meaning that the person who played the ticket played it at the exact moment the terminsal spit out the winner.

i try it all sometimes i work it out by using quick picks and then go up or down a number...or sometimes by using the previous pick that just came out go up or down.
