Woman Sues to Block $162 Million Payout
If I'm not mistaken, the odds of winning MM is about 135, 000,000 to one. And my understanding of this situation is that the woman that claimed the prize has a ticket from a previous drawing with the same numbers as the winning numbers. Now what are the odds of playing a set of numbers in one drawing and then finding a lost ticket with those same numbers on it - and having the found ticket actually winning the jackpot. There is NO WAY IN HELL that the winning ticket was ever lost. I'm very inte

OH-NO!" Woman claims $162 million Mega Millions ticket lost
Dunno. Got enough smarts and money to hire a lawyer and enough public interest to have a press conference to try to elicit sympathy. And it's easy enough to recite the winning numbers after the drawing. Now what's going to happen when the real winner emerges, after s/he has taken the time to confer with their lawyers and financial advisors? Can you spell scam ? Just the cynic in me, I guess.BTW, if not claimed in 6 months the money is returned to the states participating in the draw.

Millionaire antsy
...but the 'vast majority' of the car dealerships and service writers were very friendly, so i might have been a little 'too critical' of my memories of the job in the above post. mr majore might find it to be the perfect job considering he was a driver in previous employment and delivery of auto parts surely entailed a lot of driving. it was just a few bad experiences where mechanics were anxiously waiting for parts that were not exactly correct due to mistakes (sometimes on their part) that c

$315M Lottery Winner Shuns Attention
There are ways to remain anonymous, JW was already a millionaire and should have known them. I would take the time... been without millions this long... and ensure that the anonymity was in place. Not for myself, but for the safety of the family. Making winner personal info public domain is a bad thing, regardless of their reasoning... and the press is as much to blame as the lotteries, why is is that a sudden winfall is even newsworthy in the first place? Surely there must be something more int

State to end televised drawings of lottery
Least you should forget ,John Gotti's mother-in-law won the New Jersey lottery, Pa. lottery balls were weighted with mercury to the benefit of lottery insiders, Ill has has 2 known crime heads win the lottery and on and on. The first lottery of this nation was cancelled, I believe, due to corruption! You should also remember that even if the whole thing was rigged they would still have to let a few of us outsiders win in order to keep the sham going so play and enjoy yourself. you may just b

Some say Michigan gaming could be hitting capacity
The number of casinos, slot machines, and lottery games in Michigan has skyrocketed in recent years, giving gamblers plenty of chances to spend their money and send some of it to state coffers. The proliferation of gambling in the state has opened a debate over whether the market is becoming oversaturated, spreading profits too thin and ultimately hurting jobs, local economies and state revenues.Michigan Lottery commissioner Gary Peters recently found room in the market for two new games -- Club

GTECH scrutinized in bid for Tennessee lottery contracts
GTECH Corp., the lottery giant bidding for Tennessee contracts, has been praised for quick startups and leading technology. But the company has also been criticized for aggressive lobbying and a series of missteps in the 1990s that led to the criminal conviction of one employee and culminated in an overhaul of top managers three years ago. I don't think their past record should reflect adversely on ... the present company, although it does require someone to look at them with a little more due di
