I doubt they will take him to court for that small amount. They could dock his pay if he still works there or get a lien on his home or future new employer salary perhaps. A lien would need a court order but it would far less visible to the general public. Most companies have theft insurance policies as well. I think he would owe taxes on that money.

For the second prize winners that live in a state that doesn't tax the lottery that's 630K after taxes. 630K won't necessarily buy you a mansion or a yatch, but 630K can leave someone debt free and a little towards retirement. 630K is not an amount to be frowned upon.
