I do believe in truly random with the lottery game and game of chance and that only applies if everything is truly fair. Janite Lee: Is she still alive?
South Korean immigrant Janite Lee was working at a wig shop when she won $18 million in the Illinois lottery in 1993. Eight years later, when she filed for bankruptcy, she had less than $700 in the bank and $2.5 million in debt. Her donations were well-intentioned, but she simply gave too much. After donating huge sums to educational, political and social causes, she sold her rights to future annual payments in exchange for a lump sum, according to Time. But even that wasn t enough to keep h

DC man sues the lottery after incorrect numbers posted on website would have won him $340 million
Most up to date info on this case. Looks like he was granted his request to file an amended complaint which is pretty much routinely granted. Powerball filed a motion to dismiss in January and it looks like this motion is on the calendar for May. So the case should be dismissed at that point. I am sure he will appeal to the appellate court as before. There are pdfs for all the pleadings. https://portal-dc.tylertech.cloud/app/RegisterOfActions/#/5A03F66E68C8F904ADEA594C890F08F24114A78DA2D

DC man sues the lottery after incorrect numbers posted on website would have won him $340 million
Did some research. This appears to be the same guy, I think. https://ballotpedia.org/John_C._Cheeks He also sued a woman for libel and failed to serve her. Dismissed. Also sued a builder when they wanted payment. Looks like he was ordered to pay. https://caselaw.findlaw.com/court/us-dc-circuit/1940773.html Look what he alleged. Sound familiar ???? Conspiracy??? Racketeering????

DC man sues the lottery after incorrect numbers posted on website would have won him $340 million
A Washington, D.C. man who thought he had won a $340 million Powerball jackpot is suing the lottery and other companies related to the Powerball game after the district's website displayed the wrong winning numbers, which happened to match the numbers on his ticket. John Cheeks purchased a Powerball lottery ticket at the center of the dispute on Jan. 6, 2023. Although Cheeks did not see the Powerball drawing the following day, he saw his numbers posted on the DC lottery's website two days la

$1.3 billion Mega Millions lottery winner's family sues him for not sharing jackpot
Its my understanding that this sara person was under the condition to not reveal anything. NDA clause , etc. No where did it say John had to keep his trap shut. Clearly he told his gf and possibly his Dad. Unsure a statement is a contract when speaking with his father. Oral contracts are hard to prove in court. Just even a slight twist of wording in the conversation will or could determine if its a contract or just a joke. I've been known to jokingly say to folks, ohh sure (haha) if I w

UK couple battle over £1 million lottery prize
And he is still ranting and showing his ignorance. It is not even worth my time to tell him that family resemblance often has little to do with paternity and is not admissible as evidence in any court in the world. Science 101. It is varied genes and DNA. A child can resemble someone multiple generations ago. We all know children that do not resemble either parent but look just like a distant relative How does he even manage to cross a street by himself? He definitely is insecure and

UK couple battle over £1 million lottery prize
No surprise that you would believe such nonsense. Reports state that a man named James A. Hamilton was Alexander Hamilton's father, however they look NOTHING alike! According to a famous historian, the then General George Washington was in the Barbados at around the same time that Hamilton's mother, Rachel Fawcett, was hustling and was among her customers. As a man who watches Paternity Court and the Maury Show, i'm pretty good at picking the father based on looks, before the paternity t

DC man sues the lottery after incorrect numbers posted on website would have won him $340 million
It looks to me Mr. Cheeks bought the ticket after the incorrect numbers were posted. I had noticed that, too. It seems extremely likely that he happened to have noticed the error and deliberately bought a ticket using the numbers from the website instead of a set of numbers he chose through some honest method. I'm split about evenly between the possibility that he's one of the clowns that think the game is rigged and the (fake) winning numbers were accidentally posted early, and the possibi
