If you have 5 filters, each with 10% error, you don't have 50% error in total!10% error is 90% success=0.9Your success for 5 filters with 90% success is 0.9^5=0.9*0.9*0.9*0.9*0.9=0.59=59% or 41% error. The aim is to find a minimum set of filters and still be in your budget.

Oops. Spoke too soon. I did change from 15 to 53 and I got an error that said An unexpected error occured in procedure 'sbReadMSGFile'. Error number: 75 Error description: Path/file access error.
Does this mean that I have an old version of Access? I do have an old version, but it's from work and we still use it today for our databases.

S.C. Lottery officials continue to investigate drawing error
South Carolina Lottery officials say it will be several months before the financial impact is clear from an error made in a Palmetto Cash Five drawing last month. On June 24th, one of the numbers in the live random drawing was reported as 37, although the number drawn actually was 27. The incorrect number was sent to media outlets across the state and posted on the South Carolina Education Lottery Web site.Once the error was discovered, lottery officials decided to pay out on winning tickets with

New machines for the new Mega Millions?
It must be a NJ thing. Here in Washington state I can pick the Mega ball myself and have the computerpick the rest or I can pick 1,2,3,4,5, white balls and have the computer pick theMega ball or any number of combinations. The machine will come up with an error because it knows that you have not picked all 6 numbers. When the clerk tells you that there is an error just tell him to hit the quick pick button and it should print a ticket made up of your numbers and the computers numbers. As far as a s

RjohEvery data set will have it's own properties when it comes to a column approach. Each must be assessed independently. Some will show a good correlation and others won't. Remember errors are additive. If you use 5 filters, each having a 10% error, then you've got a 50% error factor in your selection. I've found that it's a trade off ....the number of combinations reduced vs the amount of error. Which brings up an interesting point, of the software out there using filters, how many are show th

Reduction Methods
Quote: Originally posted by JKING on January 11, 2005Todd,What I'm after here is -What's the most effective way to filter/reduce combinations. Is it by using many or just a few to achieve the amount of reduction your looking for. Which method gives you the greatest reward with the least pitfalls.A follow up question to all this is- Can you get a meaningful amount of reductions without exceeding a 100%+ error ratio? You cannot exceed 100% error neither fall below 0% error. The only way to get 0% e

For my game it's hard to find settings that work worse than yours. Hardly one number hit per line and that every 3 lines or so. They would be good to eliminate combinations instead of playing them
While my settings give pretty good results :
