Indiana, RNGs & Allegations: Time to Test
Quote: Originally posted by Rick G on April 24, 2005The figures CalifDude provided for the last year of IN midday draws are right in line with what you should expect (using the Inspector 3 tool) and with the normal variations of any state's lottery results. However, I conducted an experiment in the past here at L.P. and using the inspector 3, inspected the all-states predictors' picks. Using their overall highest percentage in the different inspector 3 categories and then using the deflate tool

Excel? How often do the bottom 5 short sums produce hits?
Hi Chaz, Hope your feeling better. I noticed Indiana midday hit yesterday with 2 LDR's out 40 or more skips. I ran the numbers for today but did not see anything interesting. A couple states are getting close to the 40 + / 40 + (Gate 1 2) plateau. It would be interesting to see how to narrow down the 200 picks from Indiana Midday draws if you were using the LDR 4 5 Thanks!!

Midday Draws (does not include Evening draws) Indiana Pick 3 - Short Sums 4 5 are near the total of 80 (LDR 4 = 42 and LDR 5 = 39)

what does a prediction formula look like?
time*treat, Why do you say Feb. is tougher than Jan. or Mar.? I don't play every game every draw, even RC5 has to be $200K+ generally before I buy tickets. PowerBall has to be near $200M before I make a trip to Indiana for tickets and if MegaMillions is less than $50M I have to feel lucky to play. I pick numbers for almost every draw to see what might have happen if I had played, so far I've never regretted not playing.

Indiana, RNGs & Allegations: Time to Test
Aye',I don't think it can be proven to be illegitimate mathematically is my point. The results and classification percentages are right in line with other states, whether they are computerized or not.I don't know much about RNG testing, but have used the inspector 3 tool extensively on many different states using many different histories. The longer the history the more in line with normal expectations. Indiana does not appear to be out of line statistically.I DO, however, have a problem with

Indiana, RNGs & Allegations: Time to Test
four4me,I think we're thinking along the same lines. I suspect that, for whatever reason, the daily games just aren't very popular in Indiana. Maybe the Hoosier Lottery just isn't doing a very good job of promoting. I've noticed that the vast majority of their advertising seems to be geared toward scratch-off games and their TV game show. There's some advertising for the PowerBall game also, but that's about the extent of it.I'm going to try to compare those number classifications that CalifDude

Hi Chaz, Always look forward to your posts. Sorry to hear your not feeling good. I see Indiana draw was 0-4-1 (LDR = 5) Midday today. Hmmm.

Excel? How often do the bottom 5 short sums produce hits?
Indiana Midday drawing has 2 Short Sums at 40 skips or above: Short Sums 4 = 43 (Regular Sums 4, 14, 24) Short Sums 5 = 40 (Regular Sums 5, 15, 25)

What is the best way to track hot and cold numbers ?
I have seen suggestions that range from anywhere from two draws to 30 days of draws. Common is two, six and twelve. Small segments of draws do not follow long term probabilities. There is the factor of numbers needing to balance out so you should have a good handle on your games long term stats. Hot trends are very short here in Indiana. Usually two draws or less. Knowing that the numbers in the last draw will repeat is of more value than thinking of numbers as hot or cold.
