New York woman says she was winner of unclaimed $12 million Lotto jackpot from 1992
It was a comedy of errors. By Kate Northrop A New York woman has revealed that she was the winner of a $12 million Lotto jackpot that was never claimed in 1992. A lottery jackpot on the verge of expiring prompts many players to rifle through their drawers or shuffle the contents of their car glovebox around, searching for that fateful ticket that could change their life forever. For one New York woman, however, she knew she had won even before checking her own ticket, but at that po

$925 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot nears billion-dollar milestone
They took the cash option according to The Jackpot Winners with Retailers Information report available for download on The Florida Lottery's MegaMillions page. If it was claimed by a Trust, I doubt the general public will ever know the name(s) of the winner(s). The Jackpot winners Report might be updated after 90 days, but if it was claimed via trust that wont tell the public all that much. Although The Florida Lottery certainly could, after 90 days I doubt they'll all of a sudden decide to

Accusations of "disturbing" new claims procedures after Allwyn sends investigator to winner's home
I went to the store yesterday to buy my tickets for today's PB and tomorrow's MM. I bought a ticket each plus the extra one dollar for $6 total. I asked the cashier for a receipt. I told her I always want to have proof that I bought the tickets just in case your cameras ain't working. The time stamp on the receipt will be within the time frame as the one on the lottery tickets. That way should I win we won't go down the path of proving am the rightful winner - I have the tickets and

what is the very first thing you would buy if you won the lottery?
Agree for sure Garyo, There's no guarantee buying more lottery tickets will win you anything. If I won say up to $1 mil I wouldn't buy like 1,000-2,000 extra tickets every draw banking on a win. I'd buy maybe 20 - 30 extra tickets max . The odds to win the big one never change. You could go broke a lot sooner than you expected otherwise.

We may seem stupid, but we're not CRAZY
You know what's even more odd? That some people didn't check the population of Southern California (24 million) or how many stores selling lottery tickets? Fun fact: Almost 10 million people live LA County alone compared to 6 million people living in the state of Maryland. Eleven states each sold over 4 million tickets in the $1.764 Billion drawing with California selling 17,768,334 and Florida selling another 10,789,215 tickets. It would be even more odd if the winning ticket was not s

No More Self Pick Play Slips Accepted
Seems the lottery is going to Quick Picks only. We tried to get some self pick lottery tickets today and everyone in line was told they are only accepting quick pick plays. Any self pick play slips were not being accepted. The store clerk had to punch in all our play slips by hand. I've seeing this kind of event happening more and more. Anyone else have issues with play slips or the store refusing to take them?

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
Here's the hard part of the above..... Someone could have cashed in their ticket that won a Free Ticket on the morning of March 20th, but because that was the date of the very first midday drawing, they may not have realized that the Free Ticket they were handed by the clerk was for the midday drawing. The next day, (March 21st) checking their ticket from the previous day, they may have checked it against the numbers for the March 20th evening drawing, saw that it was a loser, and threw

Have your Lottery-Playing Habits Changed?
From the is gambling rational page........... So presumably, one of the most interesting gambling-related questions of all is why the majority of gamblers gamble at all and why most of them continue to do so despite the fact that they lose money on average. Whatever happened to I'm having a little fun and entertainment by buying lottery tickets ? That's all I'm doing, and if I win a few bucks, that's great, but if I don't, who cares? And who knows? I might win a massive pile of mon
