$1.08 billion Powerball lottery winner Yanira Alvarez filed claim for jackpot over five months ago
I never understood why some people continue playing the lottery if they think it is a scam and makes them unhappy.
It is for entertainment purposes only.

California man reinvests $500 lottery win into scratch-off book, scoops up $1 million prize
If you were the owner or manager of the store I guess you could secretly x-ray all the scratch offs when the store was closed, set aside the books or rolls with big winners, sell them to your buddy, and leave the duds in the store to be sold to unwitting customers.
This scam sounds familiar. Wasn't there a news story about a retailer who did something similar?

One ticket sold in Florida is sole winner of $1.58 billion Mega Millions jackpot
I wouldn't call it a scam.
Especially when one is buying a ticket knowing from the start that X amount will go back to the house
It's a choice. A personal choice.
If one doesn't like the terms, they just don't play.

DC man sues the lottery after incorrect numbers posted on website would have won him $340 million
He won't prevail. Can you imagine if he did and you had hundreds of thousands of people monitoring lottery websites for temporary errors? Non official lottery related sites like LP could be brought in as well.
Not happening. Just a petty crook. He definitely thought through several levels of the scam but not far enough.
And why did his friend allegedly advise to take a photo of the numbers??? We all would be checking various websites or online scanning. Who takes photos of websites unles
