I really like the new format
Also, after I post a reply, I am taken all the way back to page 1 instead of where I was.

No more Online
Todd, funding is not going to be the problem. Getting your winnings transferred back into any financial institution in the United States will be. That is the way it is designed to stop the gambling.

Re: the offered to quit playing lottery thread
Thank you Coin Toss. I can see how that quote could be appropriate here on LP as well.

Re: the offered to quit playing lottery thread
He did the right thing, IMO. I used to play in a blackjack tournament about once a month. I almost always got to the top table. The top table has 7 players. We can play or decide to split the money. Every time I have played we split the money. So everyone is guaranteed a nice win. Yes, if we played to the end instead of splitting, the winner would get $1000 and the 7th place gets $200, but most of us agree that guaranteed money is better. Nobody leaves with only $200!!

online gambling bill
I believe it is exempt in the same state for lotteries, provided that state approves it. In other words, the State of California could approve my playing the lotto over the internet by purchasing my tickets from the State of California!! The way I understood it on C-Span, it would only be in your own state and with your state lottery. I don't know about horse racing, but I think it is the same. Can't cross state lines.

Had a weird idea about claiming a jackpot
The officers of the LLC are public knowledge. Here in California a man tried to get someone else to claim his prize. It didn't work. If I remember correctly, they were ready to video tape him in Lottery Headquarters and make the big announcement, when he admitted he was not the person that purchased the ticket. The Lottery pointed out that only the person that purchased the ticket can cash it.

interest groups lining up to lobby on web gambling
If you read the article about SWIFT you see that there is no red flag amount. Title 18 has an amount, but now we know that the CIA can monitor ALL money transfers into the United States. I do think the U.S. can stop online gambling and/or tax it. Tax would make more sense to the people that make the laws!!
