Woman denied $43 million jackpot, offered steak dinner instead
And I had the foolish thought every time I saw the signs posted on the machines that it doesn't mean what it says---they would never do that to a victim of their greed. What an idiot I have been! Shame on these casino snip s and the politicians who make them screw the poor after they're screwed by the politicians. Lottery Post featured by Microsoft in technology showcase
Great interview. Great mug too. I regret all the thoughts I had of a dishevelled, potbelly, Andy-Rooney like character... You actually look like a nice guy after all. Congrats. LP is really impressive,. I am not surprised at this attention/recognition at such an important level.

Lottery scams hard to resist for some
How I got rid of those scam letters. I have a form letter that I use. Dear ___ , Thank you for informing me of my astounding winnings of__________. To be utterly frank, that is more money than I would ever need. So here's my deal. Instead of sending $49.95 to you to process my winnings, kindly keep 25% of my winnings and send me the balance. No doubt you must realize this is an offer you can't refuse. Awaiting my check. I haven't received another scam letter in years.

Second $1M lottery win for deli worker defies all odds
Actually this doesn't defy all the odds. These are two (2) totally different and mutually exclusive events (draws) years apart. The o9dds in this game are in no way related to the odds in the last game she won. It is as if she never won before or that she is a different person. In such cases I have to believe in plain old luck. The odds have not been defied. They still rule. Just as all the people who did not win in either game in which Valerie won.

Andy Rooney: Lotteries and lottery players are stupid
Notwithstanding Andy Ruined's usually nonsensical editorial...lottery doe simpact the poor and middle class more than the rich. It is a cynical form of taxation that is indeed regressive and somewhat immoral from a policy-making POV. Governments should not be making money off sick people's vices. The truth is, apart from the sane, ordinary folks like us here at LP , many players are just down-on -their luck dreamers and idiots thinking that they are going to score of their birthday or social

Andy Rooney: Lotteries and lottery players are stupid
Way to go Andy. Some (stupid) people spend their money onwomen, booze, cigarettes, drugs, donations to political parties, donations to churches, mosques and synagogues with crooked pastors and rabbis and imams ,and some just send their money to foreign countries to buy more bombs , to steal more land and put the landowners in refugee camps to bomb them at will.. Andy wouldn't be in any of these categories, right?

Arizona Lottery winner shows what not to do with $6.7M
At least he was sensible enough to get a degree from a fairly decent school.... You go boy...He is now 47 or so...and can still earn 7 million over the rest of his lifetime even in a wage earning job He could probably still finish law school....and increase his earning potential... He lived well but you cannot escape the time-honored maxim: easy come, easy go... If he was spending hours studying systems as we do on Lp it would be different... That would be reward for work done

Online gambling threatened by U.S. legislators
According to the bits I read, the targets of the bill are those foreign-based sites --to cut down the risk of Americans getting scammed and to protect minors from online gambling. I agree these arguments sound flimsy...
