A Maine man who was arrested Thursday for selling methadone to an undercover police officer apparently used money from the sale to buy a lottery ticket that won him $1,000. Michael David, 46, will not be allowed to keep the winning ticket. Oregon waitress gets four years in lottery heist
A 33-year-old Beaverton, Oregon, waitress was sentenced to four years in prison today for robbing a lottery outlet and hitting the clerk over the head with a whiskey bottle. Angela Marie Kotoff pleaded guilty to second-degree robbery. As part of a plea deal, the case was removed from Measure 11 sentencing and charges of second-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon were dropped. Like chips and soda, now you can buy North Carolina scratch-off lottery tickets from vending machines. The lottery began installing 500 machines statewide last week.
