Mega Millions goes on sale in South Dakota May 16
South Dakota Lottery officials are adding Mega Millions to the state's lineup of lotto games, beginning May 16. The first Mega Millions drawing in which South Dakota will participate is Tuesday, May 18. The South Dakota Lottery Commission in late March unanimously approved adding the game. The mystery Powerball winner will soon be identified. The South Dakota Lottery plans a ceremony Friday afternoon in Pierre to introduce the winner of last week's $232.1 million jackpot. The winning ticket from the May 27 drawing was purchased in the town of Winner, which has two Powerball lottery outlets.
