Missouri Lottery considering tickets at gas pumps
Missourians might have another choice at the gas pump someday: regular, premium, or Powerball.
The state lottery is going to launch a pilot project at fifteen stations, or so, that will let gas-buyers get lottery tickets at the pump or at ATMs inside the convenience store. Spokesman Gary Gonder says 70 percent of lottery players pay for their gas at the pump.
The system would let buyers use their debit cards just as they do now. But they'd be offered a chance to buy lottery tickets at the

The Missouri Lottery would not be able to release the names and addresses of prize winners under a bill presented to a Missouri House committee on Thursday.

Missouri Powerball winners live modestly, give back to hometown
Three months after winning half of the biggest Powerball lottery jackpot in U.S. history, Mark Hill still meets friends for morning coffee at a local convenience store.
And that Camaro sports car Hill considered buying with his winnings? He got a pick-up truck instead.
While some lottery winners fritter away their fortunes or meet tragic ends, not much has outwardly changed for Mark and Cindy Hill since they won half of a $587 million Powerball jackpot in November. They netted $136.5 milli

Mechanic and his wife are Missouri winners of $588M Powerball jackpot
Cindy Hill, a laid-off office manager who lives in a small town in Missouri, called her husband Thursday with urgent news that would change everything: We won the lottery.
What? he asked.
We won the lottery, she repeated. But Mark Hill, a 52-year-old mechanic who works at a meat processing plant, is the kind of person who carefully checks the prices for everything he buys, and he needed proof. This is the Show-Me State after all.
He drove to his mother's house, where his wife was wai

Nun donates $55,000 lottery win
When Sister Mary Concetta Torrillo of Webster Groves hit the Missouri Lottery's Show Me Cash jackpot on May 13, it meant a $55,000 gift for the Sisters of Loretto, a convent in Kentucky she served for 30 years.
A regular Show Me Cash player, Torrillo said she enjoys playing the game for the fun of it. However, the vow of poverty she had taken ultimately led to her decision to donate the prize money, instead of claiming it for herself.
Her ticket held the winning combination of: 1, 6, 15, 2

She had debt, including school loans, and she still was having a hard time believing that she had won. She wanted to wait until she had her winnings in hand.
But things at work got increasingly difficult.
