The Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office is investigating an incident in which a woman in the Virginia county was bilked out of nearly $30,000 after being promised lottery riches, court records show. A 25-year-old man from Charlotte, North Carolina, was sentenced on Monday to two years in federal prison for his role in a Jamaica-based lottery fraud scheme.
