The Mississippi Lottery's first year in operation has been an eventful one, from selling its first-ever lottery ticket in November 2019 to battling sales dips caused by COVID-19 just four months later. Yet, it's currently traveling down the road to success, having transferred $70.7 million to the state treasury in less than one year in operation.

Cash 3 will be available starting Tuesday, September 1

Since officially launching on November 25, 2019, the Mississippi Lottery will be releasing its first-ever daily draw game this coming Tuesday, September 1.
In Cash 3, players will pick one of eight different play types and choose a three-digit number from 000-999. Players can also elect a Quick Pick option, which allows the lottery terminal to randomly choose their numbers for them.

Mississippi Lottery announces three new scratch-off games
4 games to retire by the end of the month

In a press release, the Mississippi Lottery announced three new scratch-off lottery games. Starting Tuesday, July 7, Mississippi players will be able to find these scratch-off lottery games at official retailers.
The lottery will be retiring four games to make room for the new entries.

Mississippi lottery revenue dips in March amid pandemic
State revenue from the Mississippi Lottery decreased in March as people began facing restrictions because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Mississippi Lottery Corporation said it deposited $9.9 million into the state treasury the net proceeds from lottery games played during March.
Mississippi has collected more than $37.5 million from the lottery since it started operating in November.

Lottery exceeding expectations in Mississippi
Through a little more than two months of operation, Mississippi's lottery has generated about $16 million in revenue for work on the state's roads and bridges.

Two Mississippi men are in custody after being accused of trying to claim a $100,000 lottery prize with a fake scratch-off lottery ticket.

Nearly $9 million of Mississippi Lottery tickets sold in first 6 days
The Mississippi Lottery sold nearly $9 million in tickets during its first six days of operation.
About $3.8 million of the money was awarded in prizes, and nearly $2 million of it will go into the state budget to help pay for roads and bridges.

The Mississippi Lottery Corporation says people bought a total of $2.5 million in lottery tickets on the first day of sales.
In a news release, lottery officials said that translates into $570,000 for the state.
