# How to play Illinois Pick3: 6-Way combo?

hi friends,

I'm interested in playing Illinois Pick 3: 6-way combo

but I don't know the rules. Please show me how to play it...just the instruction...no prediction!

I need to understand the rule before I head out to buy the ticket.

1) pick 3 numbers from 0 to 9, duplicates numbers are allowed. am I right?

2) how much do I pay for each ticket? fifty cent or one dollar? and how much do I win for each ticket? It's kind of confuse when I visit its homepage

2) If I picked: 1-2-3, but the numbers drawn were: 3-2-1 or 3-1-2 or 2-1-3 or 2-3-1 or 1-3-2

so, do I win?

Gameboy, here's how it works...

If you are playing 3 different digits you would be playing a 6-way combo.  You can bet .50 or \$1.  A .50 combo bet on 123 would cost \$3 and you would win \$250 if it comes in any order.  A \$1 combo bet would cost \$6 and pay off \$500.

If you are playing doubles you would be playing a 3-way combo and a .50 bet would cost \$1.50, a \$1 bet would cost \$3.  The payoffs are the same as mentioned above...either \$250 or \$500.

To put it simply a combo bet is a straight bet on all possible combinations of your three digits.

after reading your message, I understood that I can bet \$.50 and win \$250, bet \$1.00 win \$500, but I still don't understand the meaning of "COST \$3.00" and "COST \$6.00"

is that we pay \$3 for one ticket that payoff \$250 (\$.50 bet) or \$6 for one ticket that payoff \$500 (\$1 bet)?

gameboy, if what you are  asking, a straight combo would cost you \$3.00 a double straight would cost you \$6.00. if you're asking about  a boxed combo you could play for .50 or1.00, or for any amount , but on a boxed ccombo the payout would be significantely lower. i hope this helps you.  good luck

Hi gameboy

You are correct on your first Question.

Second question , The 6 .50 str's add up to \$3 because they are played on a single ticket.

Third question , Yes the combo bet covers your three numbers in str form just as you have shown them.

Call it out to your agent as eve - pick 3 - .50 cent - combo - 123.

If your agent has trouble [gas station] just slow it down and have them push the buttons as you call them out:

Eve - pick 3 - .50 cent  -  combo - 123 - push send button.

Gameboy, if the above explanations are still confusing, then just write down all possible combinations of your 3 digits and ask for a straight bet on each of them.  50 cents, \$1, or whatever you want to bet on your combinations.  As Chipp said, the only difference in asking for a combo bet as opposed to 6 separate straight tickets is that the combo bet comes on one ticket instead of 6.

If you are betting a 50 cent combo bet on 1-2-3 you are asking for a bet on 1-2-3, 1-3-2, 2-1-3, 2-3-1, 3-1-2, 3-2-1.  6 bets times 50 cents per bet equals \$3.00.

If you are betting a 50 cent combo bet on 1-2-2 you are asking for a bet on 1-2-2, 2-1-2, 2-2-1.  3 bets times 50 cents equals \$1.50

Combo bets are for straight betting only.

Gameboy, good luck in your combo betting.  One thing I do is that if I'm betting a doubles pick,  I always play combo bet as opposed to straight/box.  For the extra 50 cents you have all three combos covered straight.  Chipp does that too.
