I've had a MA Megabucks season ticket for 9 years. Until this year. My father had one for years. When they moved out of state in 1996, I offered to pay half of the season ticket with his numbers, since the lottery won't mail them out of state and split the prize.  So it kept going year after year, and every time I had to renew it I would want to drop it for the usual reasons - annuity only, miserable smaller prizes, haven't won a thing for years, MegaMillions is more fun to play and dream about. This year, after the lying press release last year that promised changes that never came, I finally had enough.  I resisted parental pressure and told them I wasn't renewing it, that I had a season ticket for MegaMillions and didn't want to get two of them.

If the lottery had made positive changes as promised, I would have renewed it. But now it is time to do the only protest the MA lottery understands - money.  They are not getting any more of mine unless they make changes that I like.

    tg:

Good for you. Now you need to convince everybody else in Massachusetts to boycott it as well.

I'd like to hear more LP members say they've stopped playing Mass Megais bad$.

I was just disgusted by them issuing a press release promising changes coming soon, then months later, no sign that anything is being done.  If they make the changes and I approve of whatever they are, I will probably get another ST.

Now I just hope the number I had doesn't come in.

i think they've been a little busy getting people to play Ca$h Winfall instead, but i do agree that they need to get those changes coming, and soon.

I've redone my website.  Go to www.dr-ew.com.  I kept a lot of the old stuff, and I've added some new stuff.  Look for more new stuff in the coming weeks.

Anybody think Megais bad$ is a better game than Cash WinFall?

The new Mass rules for selling annuities for cash is not enough for me to end my boycott of Mass Megais bad$.

The jackpot for Wednesday, May 4 is: Who cares?

The same can be said for the UK games. Is anyone here actually from Britain? And another thing, why not have two tables, one in US$ and one in CAN$. I know this is O/T, but I thought it would be a good follow up.

The British lotteries are lump sum. And tax-free.

I didn't know that. What about Canada?
