Should lotteries in the US offer something like Powerpik for Powerball and Mega Millions?

Recently, Australian Powerball started offering something called Powerpik, in which you pick the 5 white balls, and they give you every possible Powerball, so if your white balls hit, you have the jackpot and then some. The minimum you can win (In cash) is approximately $10.4 million if you just match the 5 white balls for Powerball and $14.525 million for Mega Millions. Granted it would cost you $42 for Powerball and $52 for Mega Millions, but it sounds like a good idea, and you would be guarenteed to win something. Would you like to see that in the US?

I've redone my website.  Go to www.dr-ew.com.  I kept a lot of the old stuff, and I've added some new stuff.  Look for more new stuff in the coming weeks.

An interesting idea, but $52 x 104 drawings = $5408 a year. It would make it too easy for people to spend and lose too much.

it also mkes it easier to buy out the game when the odds get big, but i think it would win over hardcore players who don't want to spend a lot of time filling out playslips.

True. I don't care if they do it - it would be interesting to see how many people would do it, how many jackpots would be won with it. I know some people spend over $50 per drawing anyway, this would be a more sensible thing than 50 quick pics.

it would be intended more for when the jackpot gets big.

It's best they don't offer that. That's why we don't have the systems plays the do in Australia. We want to make sure it's not too easy for people to splurge.

approx $27, but their odds are better than those here.
