Yes, that's right. I've been reading the LP forums for some time now, been watching/comparing member predictions...etc. I thought it was about time I joined this forum. It's almost like I know the "regulars" just from following their threads.

I have only begun to play the lottery with any type of method recently. Fortunately, I have hit the Ohio pick 4 three times, once straight on 1609 on 1/11/05. Yes, I have lotto pro 2004, but I use it strictly for stat. purposes only. I also use the tic-tac-toe method, the sums method and sometimes, just my gut feel. Do I know what I'm doing? Heck no! But I am having a lot of fun. Recently, I have been coming aweful close to hitting the pick 4 on a straight however, I have been off by one number (by one digit) more than I care to admit. (Fast-eddie, you can relate to this).  Most recently, I was off on both midday and evening draws this past Saturday, Friday, Wednesday and Monday. My question: Do any of you have any advise to offer to help with this? I have tried by playing one high / one low, changing one number to change the sum by 1...anything I can think of. Unfortunately, I still end up being one number off. Perhaps joining this forum and having the ability to post my predictions can help me better understand where I could be going wrong - if wrong at all.

I look forward to your comments and getting to know you all,

Snakeyes

Welcome to LP. I'm sure the pick 3/pick 4 forums could answer that better than anyone. Especially since the pick 3 forum has more posts than any other forum. As far as being close goes its really in the luck of the draw. Some numbers come up every year as a straight combination exept the year you start playing them. It's the way it goes I guess.

      welcome to the LP!!!!!

Now, if you are certain you can get three numbers right and hit a straight in the pick 4 then this would be helpful

      Say your straight is 1234

get every variation of each trio

      1234, 2234, 3234, 4234, 5234, 6234, 7234, 8234, 9234, 0234

Do this all around, it will give you 40 combos, on   that is $10. so say you play 7 days a week, that is $70, now if you can be off by one number once that week, you will win $2,225.

      Good luck

I believe life is about finding someone you cant live without

And showing them how much you care every day of every month of every year

          dvdiva- thanks for the info.

Justin: Thanks for the tip; I never thought of that.

For instance, last nights P4 was 5511. I played 5150. The midday was 7079. I played 6179, Friday evening: 6679; I played 5679, Friday midday: 7276, I played 6287. So darn close..but no deal. I just hope this type of luck follows me to the 5/39 or MM game. :o) Or, I break that last digit barrier before I go cold.

welcome aboard snakeyes. i'm sure you'll find enough information here at lp, to get you through your dilema on the pick-4. i myself follow the trends of the numbers coming out and make my decision from there, there are a lot of good predictors here at lp, and i'm sure that one or more of them has a method that coincides with your method of play .    good luck...!

                  Hi Bird, 4=7 - I agree!

Hi Lucky and MADDOG10 - been watching your predictions and following your posts for some time now. Glad to have met you. I read one of fast eddie's posts about all the misses he had by one number. That's when I realized I had the same problem. Hopefully, we can figure this one out. If successful, then I'll start figuring out why I come up #11 on top 10 lists.

Let's knock em' down this month! my palm is itchin'

                    Greetings, Snakeyes,

welcome to the best lottery forum you ever visited!

When folks miss by one or two nearbrushes for the win, some of them use the method called one-up and/or one-down. If you have a 2 for example and the call was a 3 or 1, your next plays would incorporate the same setup.

                                                              1

                                            1--2--3

                                                                3

This simple trick is used in most lottery type plays when nothing else works!

                        Thanks Jorli D!

                        Teufellj,

I am, as of recent, trying the one-up / one-down method (actually, I think I came across this idea from one of your previous posts) but am still missing something. I am going to try Justin's suggestion earlier in this post to see if I can nail it. I'll try it this morning if I can get to the store in time.

For instance, two numbers that really have my attention for this morning are 8136 and 5179. I am going to play a combination as Justin suggested. However, I do have a one-up / one-down sequence also (8136,8036,8035,8135, 5179,5279, 5379, 5479,5879)

Thanks for the warm welcome's all!

Wasn't able to spend the time this morning before the drawing deadline, so I played the numbers as you see them above. Ohio midday: 4569. Once again, one number (one digit) off, but for a box this time.
